Good evening and welcome to the Warrior Gym at Snow Canyon High School where we are about to bring you Dixie versus Snow Canyon. A dandy matchup between two outstanding region nine teams. The difference a matter of one game as Dixie comes in with a 3 and 1 record in league play. Snow Canyon comes in with a 2 and 2 record and having feelings about moving up in the standings in Region 9. This will be the first time these two teams have met this year. Dixie coming up with an 11 and 2 record overall, losing just in the semifinals of the Page High School Tournament and then also losing in the second game of Region 9 play when Dixie was knocked off by Pineview High School. And that was a big upset for Dixie and Pineview proved that they were going to be a factor. Wednesday turned things around. Snow Canyon with a win at Hurricane. Canyon View with a huge win at Pine View and Dixie coming from behind to beat Cedar City. Now there's a three way tie for first place in Region 9 basketball as Cedar City and Pineview of course meeting tonight and you already know the outcome of that one. And Dixie taking on Snow Canyon. Hurricane and Canyon View battling at the bottom end of the league right now. And Hurricane desperately in need of a win tonight. We'll have that final score for you before the night is over. Also between Hurricane and Canyon View. But tonight let's talk Snow Canyon and Dixie. Part of the story here is a rematch, a reunion every time Snow Canyon plays Dixie. Last year and this it is. Former Dixie High School star Casey Bundy coaching Snow Canyon and yes, former Dixie High School assistant Casey Bundy. He was an assistant with coach Ken Robinson before moving over to coach the Warriors. A wild, wild evening so far as the junior varsity matchup ended up with Snow Canyon pulling out a victory 82 to 78 after trailing by as much as 2020 points in the ball game and trailing by 17 going into the fourth quarter. Snow Canyon a furious fourth quarter rush and caught Dixie and passed them and picked up the victory in the junior varsity 82, 78. Some of the Snow Canyon fans feeling that there is a mood in the air about a possible upset. Dixie comes in as a favorite and so far the visiting teams have not done badly in Region 9 play. Sometimes the home team has been a little bit tight compared to the visiting team and that's made for some excellent ball games so far this year. We'll be back. Take a look at the starting lineups of the Snow Canyon warriors and the Dixie High School Flyers. Back after this timeout. We mentioned the Snow Canyon warriors come into this ball game with a 2 and 2 record in league play and 6 and 8 overall. But if you look after their first four games, which happen to be losses, Snow Canyon has rallied and has gone six and four the rest of the way. So that six and eight record is actually six and four. They have won two out of their last three and five out of their last eight ball games have been victories for the Snow Canyon Warriors Warriors. Tonight the home team will be starting at guard, number 13, a six foot senior, Matt Hickman. Also starting in the backcourt is 5 foot 8 inch senior John Hafen. One of the changes for Snow Canyon High School was to go a little bit bigger and that seemed to spark Snow Canyon. Theo Beck, who was a reserve earlier, has become a starter and a producing starter for the Snow Canyon Warriors. The six six junior starts at center. Six foot two inch senior Ben Lane starts up front and six foot three inch senior Rashad Swenson starts up front for Dixie High School. Corey Wegkamp in backcourt along with Cody Bundy, Brent Garasoli, Andre Sparks and Adam Monson. Back with the beginning of this ball game after this timeout. Looking for Dixby across that front line at 6ft 4 and 6ft 2 and really three perimeter ball players beyond that as Brent Garasoli is only 511 but rebounds well. Cody Bundy 5 11, he jumped extremely well. And Cory Wegcamp at a 5 foot 10 inch junior. But note, Dan Robinson has been going deep into his lineup and so has coach Casey Bundy. Casey Bundy's been going deep into his lineup too. I've mentioned that Matt Hickman was number 13. He was earlier in the year. He's number 11 right now. Matt Hickman wearing that number 11. Ben Lane at six two Theo Beck at six and Rashad Swenson at roughly six three. That's a forward day. Front line, John Haythen at five eight and Matt Hickman at six feet with some muscle. So if you're looking at size, Snow Canyon has a little size on Dixie tonight. Dixie may have a little bit of an advantage on quickness, although John Hafen is one of the quickest ballplayers in the in the conference. And as we get here at Snow Canyon, remembrance of last week when we were at Canyon View High School because it was a very lively, very noisy gym. And it's like that once again here at the Warrior Gym. It's a very lively, noisy gym here at Snow Canyon High School. So the warriors and the Flyers about ready to tip off on KSTI and kz. Easy jumping center will be Adam Monson and let's see if it'll be Rashad Swenson or Theo Beck. Theo Beck is six' six stringbean of ball player, but he has come on strong and has played very well. In fact, he's been in double figures in each of the last two ballgames. Ben Lane has put together three double figure ball games with losses at Cedar City and at Pineview. And against Pineview. Those are the two losses by Snow Canyon in league play. So far for Dixie, the only loss has been to Pineview. Adapt. Controlled by Monson and Beck. Both of them slap at it. It's out of bounds. Snow Canyon, it looks like a huge margin, but that starts to carve away and there's plenty of time left. Second free throw. Good. Snow Canyon came back, cut it to an 18 to 5 first quarter lead for Dixie. But that 13 point lead was huge for the Flyers and they needed every bit of it because Snow Canyon made a run right off the bat. The first seven points of the second quarter and coming back with a big second quarter to score 17 points in that second quarter. But Dixie came back and right at the end pulled out again to take an 11 point lead, 33 to 22. Here's how the first half scoring went. Jake Ellison off the bench, did not score. Colby Levitt off the bench also scored, did not score. Brian Levitt came off the bench, went 041 from the free throw line. This could be a lot tighter if Snow Canyon had hit the front ends of their one on one situation as the free throw shooting has not been that sharp for Snow Canyon. That's as far as the as the reserves go now as far as the starters are concerned. Matt Hickman with a couple of field goals, 1 for 2 from the free throw line. A total of five points here in the first half of play for John Hafen, 2 for 2 from the free throw line and a three pointer for a total of five first half points for Hafen. He hit his first half or his first half points all at the beginning of the second quarter of play. In fact he had outscored Dixie five to nothing in that second quarter at one point. And so that's how he got his five points. As far as Ryan Hatch, I didn't mention him reserve in that first half, went over one from the free throw line and did not score. Now the rest of the starters, Theo Beck who has been a power for Snow Canyon has been clogged up by Dixie as back has got been shut right down by the Flyers. Only one basket, a total of two points. And he had the only basket for Snow Canyon for quite a while in that first quarter. Rashad Swenson held at just one second quarter basket, but Ben Lane hit the boards hard and did an excellent job. Four field goals, a total of eight points in that first half of action. And there you have the 22 points for Snow Canyon. Here's how the 33 points points for Dixie is distributed. Shane Parishamp came off the bench, had one out of two baskets for a total of two points. Clint Alexander just struggled when he came off the bench, played only in the second quarter and not very long. He picked up two quick fouls. Matt Goodman got a good tap in for a basket as Cody Bundy missed a shot and Matt Goodman knuckled that one back up and in, went off his knuckles up and in for a total of two points. Larry Stevenson has matched his career high already with two baskets, one in each quarter. He has not scored a whole bunch for Dixie, but has gotten some huge rebounds. A total of four points for Stevenson here in the first quarter of play. First half of play, Todd Rignell off the bench has not been allowed to get loose and so he is not had any points. Snow Canyon doing a good job on Rignell, but Dixie has gone five players deep off the bench and has six points off the bench for Snow Canyon. Their bench has produced no points, so no scoring by the benchmen for Snow Canyon. Among the starters for Dixby, Corey Wegcamp drilled a three pointer on an inbound pass and that's been his sum total of scoring thus far. Cody Bundy with two field goals that were two pointers in the first quarter then added a three pointer in the second quarter has a total of seven points for the Flyers. Brent Garasoli after having back to back non double figure ball games has a two pointer, a three pointer and three, four, four from the free throw line. A total of eight first half points. So he's starting to score like he did earlier in the year for Andre Sparks. He hit a Two pointer and a three pointer in that second quarter. And for a while he was the sum total of the offense for Dixie High School. And Adam Monson, a nice little jump shot from along the baseline has a total of two points on the night. And that's how the 33 points shake out for Dixie at the half. It's 33, 22. Dixie over snow Canyon. Back with a look at the girls action and the beginning of the second half after this timeout. Second half of action about to get underway shortly. Some of the stories of that first half. Dixie with six turnovers in the first quarter, four in the second quarter, for a total of 10 in that first half for Snow Canyon, they had 10 turnovers in the first quarter. And that was part of the reason my Dixie was able to jump out to that early lead and then added five more turnovers in that second quarter. So 15 turnovers already for Snow Canyon. And that's a little bit of a challenge to try to deal with right now for the Warriors. They cut down on that in the second half last night in the girls action, Snow Canyon came up with a big win over Dixie 87 to 50. In Snow Canyon, who played for the state championship just two years ago, finishing second in the state and only their second year in existence, is in the process of putting together another outstanding team, the Snow Canyon Lady Warriors, 87 to 50. Chanel Rose had 25 points last night. Pine View overwhelmed Cedar city by a 60 to 42 margin. And Cedars and Hurricane dumps Canyon View 6058 to 31. That was Region 9 girls basketball action last night here in the junior varsity game today. Dixie led by five at the end of the first quarter, by 17 at the end of the third quarter and still lost to Snow Canyon 40 points in the fourth quarter by the Warriors. Coach Casey Bundy has joined us now. And, Coach, just an amazing comeback by your kids, and that's twice. The JV game was even more of a huge comeback. But you almost got the varsity tonight. Yeah. Just got to give the kids credit for battling back. You know, there are a lot of times throughout that game where they could have just, you know, quit and give up and, you know, it's just hard to work that hard and not. Not get it. But I'm really proud of the kids for how hard they worked and how hard they played. And, you know, they were so. I think they were so wound up from the first half that they forgot to play the game in the first half, and they relaxed in the second half, came out and just played the game, and that's what I wanted them to do. And they did that in the second half. They did an excellent job in the second half. Let's talk a little bit about negatives turned to positives, turnovers in the first half. You had 10 in the first quarter. Unofficially, you cut that margin down quite a bit in the second half. You didn't turn the ball over nearly as much. No, I think we had. Well, we had 14. We have us down for 14 in the first half and eight in the second. Second half. So I had 15 and eight. So that's, yeah, pretty close. But I'll tell you what, that's about 10 too many. About 10 too many. And, you know, we just. It's hard because, you know, any one of those, you know, Johnny feels bad because he lost that ball at the end and probably thought he had a chance to shoot a shot or get a shot off, which he did. But, you know, there are 22 other. Other, you know, mistakes to have to worry about. That one that could have helped us. Not only that, we missed five front ends of one and ones, and probably, you know, the only free throws we missed, but they happened to come the front part of one and ones. You know, Theo goes seven for seven and Ben goes three for three, and we just had other guys that just kind of missed periodically a front end, the. Of a one and one, and we shoot 50% of those one and ones, and we're right there, you know, and so there's a lot of things through the game that, you know, hurt us. And Dixie shot The ball real well. I mean, when we played, man, when we played zone, didn't matter what we ran, they were still hitting threes, and our kids just didn't get down. They just kept battling, and I'm really proud of them for that. Let's talk a little bit about some adjustments at halftime. Dixie was getting some layups. They were getting inside, outside in that first half. They didn't have anything from inside in the second half. What did you do at halftime? That little zone defense seemed to clog it. I just think that we just, you know, we relaxed a little bit. You know, we talked about how they needed to see the floor and see players and get their head up and look around and use their peripheral visual and see people and just talk a little bit. And those were some of the things that we didn't do in the first half. You know, we kind of had our blinders on a little bit, and the emotion of the game kind of forced us to have blinders, and we just didn't see the floor and lost people. And, you know, we talked about a little bit about, you know, some of the places they're going to be going, and, you know, they were a little more patient, so they didn't look for some of those things, but early and. Well, the other thing was we were trapping a little bit in the corner and they were cutting really well to the bucket off of it and getting some easy layups, or we were just fouling them and they were getting free throws. So we didn't do that in the second half. So that was the only really small adjustment that we made, was just by not trapping the corner and just playing defense and trying to keep them in front of us. Had a tremendous night rebounding. He got a ton of rebounds tonight. Yeah, we have him for nine. I don't know what you had him for. He had a great game. Ben did. You know, we talked about how everybody needed to rebound, but Ben really stepped it up in that area. Sometimes he tends to watch the game a little bit, but he really came to play tonight, and he did a heck of a job rebounding. I know he got the last foul, but he prevented the layup in the process of doing it. Yeah, I mean, that's a tough call, I think. I don't know. I don't want to say anything because it was such a great game. You know, it's hard when it comes down to a call at the end when it was really close. I mean, I thought he was there. You know, maybe he didn't Hit him, you know, real square. But I've had an awful lot of charges called on on me for not hitting the guy square, you know, so I don't know, it was unfortunate that it had to come down to a free throw and then, and then we didn't have much time to get a shot off and. And I was real happy for my kids that they played hard and kept in it and didn't let it get away from them and, and kept battling and, you know, we still got a lot of ball game to play and we'll come ready to play again next week and just keep having fun. I would almost be tempted to give Ben Lane the locker room defensive player of the game for he's rebounding and is hustle on both ends of the court. I think that's an excellent choice. You know, people don't realize that rebounding is an excellent defense. Anytime that you eliminate people from getting second chances. That's a great defense. I mean, that's an absolutely tremendous defense when people can't get, you know, offensive rebounds and put them back up for easy shots. And so that's an excellent choice. Case in point, Adam Monson working his heart off underneath on the boards and Lane just took a rebound away from him and ended up with a three point play near the end of the ball game. Ben just works. He works. He's a hustler, he's an athlete. You know, he's just a good. And he's a great kid too. Theo Beck bottled up in the first half, hardly even got a chance to touch the Baltics. He kept him under control. What happened in the second, he went wild. You know, that was one of the other things we talked about at halftime was these guys, we're not that great of shooters that we can't get the ball inside. And Theo's been having such good games lately. You know, it's too bad that we can't give him the ball a little more often. And I think that we started to, you know, to look for it in the first half. We didn't look. You know, our next pass was back out instead of looking. And so we started doing that a little more. And Theo had a great game, you know, a great second half. He struggled in the first half, got out of it a little bit, and then he sat a little bit because we went with some different people. But he had a great game as well. Him and Ben had huge games for us. Your team is. Seems to be getting so close to getting just over the edge. You would have been Right in the thick of things. Three way tie for second place. If you got the win, that would have been, it would have been nice, you know, but hopefully our kids will keep it in perspective, you know, and know that, hey, we're right there and you know, eliminate a few mistakes, just a few, and play basketball. I caught you out of breath a little bit making the run out there, you know. Yeah, you've. You said it all right there. It was very exciting for both sides and it's a very good road victory for us. We've got to get it in our heads that we've got to come in and be ready to play because everybody knows teams are out there that are getting tougher and tougher and we need to keep pushing and match them. And with the energy and the rebounding, we. Obviously there were some things that we talked about after the ball game in the locker room. A little late getting out, but there's some things we've got to concentrate and get better at. We gave too many offensive boards tonight and it's a situation where they crashed well, especially Ben Lane that got some offensive boards that really hurt us and put them back in and he had a very good game against us. That's just things that we're going to have to do a better job of. But excellent, excellent win for us. That's for us to hold on and keep the composure. And I liked what I saw in going down the stretch and moving the basketball and that middle opened right up for Cody to go up the middle and get on the free throw line. I think if Coach Bundy had that to do over again, he would think no matter what happens, we don't want Cody to get the ball up the middle and get on the free throw line. And it's a situation that after everyone touches the ball and everybody moving and everybody's involved in it, then the middle opened up and there it was. So it's a situation, I think, that we'll get better at and I think it's a situation that won us a ballgame tonight. It's ironic in a way that it was the middle because the middle had gotten closed off on you in the second half. It's very true. It's a situation where, you know, anytime that you're shooting the three pointers and what did we make? Did I nine of them? I had nine of them, you know, and you're shooting that much outside, that middle's cut off and we're not getting the things there and we're moving the ball. But it's a situation that right down the stretch it came to a basket right in close with a drive that got the job done and got us on the free throw line. First quarter, you jump out and just shut down Snow Canyon. And every basket counts, Even the first one of a ball game, one like this. Yeah, every free throw, every basket, everything counted. And some of them we forget about because they're early in the game. But, you know, getting a good strong lead in here. We talked about that. It was critical that we come in and have a good first quarter and get a good strong start. All the things that develop. There's no way that you're going to come in here in the last, you know, since the school opened, we have come over here and we have our runs and they have their runs and it ends up being a tough ball game. And I think that, I don't know, see any reason why that's going to change. You know, it's going to with Coach Bundy's style and how hard those kids play for him. He's got them playing well and they've got some offensive scorers, they've got some hustlers, some rebounders, and in this gym especially, they're going to be very tough. This is very noisy, Jeff. Oh, it's loud. It is absolutely loud, you know, and it was rocking. It was rocking tonight and it was a great basketball game, great high school game and obviously a great win on the road for us. Lots of individual heroes. Cody Bundy, another great defensive night. He does a lot of things so well and of course getting it, getting it done down the stretch and getting on the free throw line. But he defensively and the offensive and everything, he did a couple things leadership wise out there tonight. I am glad to see him do encouragement on the other guys and talking to them as far as when somebody doesn't block out or somebody doesn't run the floor and get back on defense. And I think that a lot of guys respect him for what he's accomplished and who he is on the team and that's why he's one of our team captains. And I saw some leadership here tonight, Frank Garasoli. But after being bottled up the last two ball games, he explodes tonight, especially with that three pointer. Well, with his abilities and his offensive skills and how hard he hustles, he's not going to stay down long. He was going to rough and he was going to have a good offensive show and he did. He came through on a very critical night that we needed him. He had interesting group of heroes. Adam Monson at times, Andre Sparks occasionally in there. Larry Stevenson gave you some good moments in that first half. Some huge things. Well, we got those guys in foul trouble. You know, we using typically all four of them at those two spots and rotating them in. And we needed them all four guys tonight, you know, as we were getting in foul trouble, but they all did a good job. Good evening and welcome to the Warrior Gym at Snow Canyon High School where we're about to bring you Dixie versus Snow Canyon. A dandy matchup between two outstanding region nine teams. The difference a matter of one game as Dixie comes in with a 3 and 1 record in league play. Snow Canyon comes in with a 2 and 2 record and having feelings about moving up in the standings in Region 9. This will be the first time these two teams have met this year. Dixie coming up with an 11 and 2 record overall, losing just in the semifinals of the Page High School Tournament. And then Also losing in the second game of Region 9 play when Dixie was knocked off by Pineview High School and that was a big upset for Dixie and Pineview proved that they were going to be a factor. Wednesday, turn things around. Snow Canyon with a win at Hurricane, Canyon View with a huge win at Pine View and Dixie coming from behind to beat Cedar City. Now there's a three way tie for first place in Region 9 basketball as Cedar City and Pine View of course meeting tonight and you already know the outcome of that one and Dixie taking on Snow Canyon, Hurricane and Canyon View battling at the bottom end of the league right now and Hurricane desperately in need of a win tonight. We'll have that final score for you before the night is over. Also between Hurricane and Canyon View. But tonight let's talk Snow Canyon and Dixie. Part of the story here is a rematch, a reunion every time Snow Canyon plays Dixie last year and this it is Former Dixie High School star Casey Bundy coaching Snow Canyon and and yes, former Dixie High School assistant Casey Bundy. He was an assistant with coach Ken Robinson before moving over to coach the Warriors. A wild, wild evening so far as the junior varsity matchup ended up with Snow Canyon pulling out a victory 82 to 78. After trailing by as much as 20 points in the ball game and trailing by 17 going into the fourth quarter, Snow Canyon a furious fourth quarter rush and caught Dixie and passed them and picked up the victory in the junior varsity 88, 82 to 78. Some of the Snow Canyon fans feeling that there is a mood in the air about a possible upset. Dixie comes in as a favorite and so far the visiting teams have not done badly in Region 9 play. Sometimes the home team has been a little bit tight compared to the visiting team and that's made for some excellent ball games so far this year. We'll be back. We mentioned the Snow Canyon warriors come into this ball game with a 22 record in league pool and 6 and 8 overall. But if you look after their first four games which happen to be losses, Snow Canyon has rallied and has gone six and four the rest of the way. So that six and eight record is actually six and four. They have won two out of their last three and five out of their last eight ball games have been victories for the Snow Canyon Warriors. Warriors. Warriors. One of the changes for Snow Canyon High School was to go a little bit bigger and that seemed to spark Snow Canyon. Theo Beck, who was a reserve earlier, has become a starter and a producing starter for the Snow Canyon warriors as big dicks junior starts at center. 6 foot 2 inch senior Ben Lane starts up front and 6 foot 3 inch senior Rashad Swenson starts up front for Dixie High School. Casey Bundy's been going deep into his lineup too. I've mentioned that Matt Hickman was number 13. He was was earlier in the year. He's number 11 right now. Matt Hickman wearing that number 11, Ben Lane at six two, Theo Beck at six six and Rashad Swenson at roughly six three. That's a forward day front line John Haythen at five eight and Matt Hickman at six feet with some muscle. So if you're looking at size, Snow Canyon has a little size on Dixie tonight. Dixie may have a little bit of an advantage on quickness although John Hafen is one of the quickest ballplayers in the in the conference. And as we get here at Snow Canyon, remembrance of last week when we were at Canyon View High School because it Was a very lively, very noisy gym. And it's like that once again here at the Warrior Gym. It's a very lively, noisy gym here at Snow Canyon High School. So the warriors and the Flyers about ready to tip off on KSTI and kz. Bundy almost loses the ball, picks up the ball again, forces the three pointer and just hits the edge of the rim. So Dixie doesn't get a real good shot at the end. At the end of the first half, Snow Canyon makes the run at Dixie, gets close within three, but Dixie has a 33 to 22 halftime lead. Let's take this time out. Snow Canyon came back, cut it to an 18 to 5 first quarter lead for Dixie with that 13 point lead was huge for the Flyers and they needed every bit of it because Snow Canyon made a run right off the bat scoring the first seven points of the second quarter and coming back with a big second quarter to score 17 points in that second quarter. But Dixie came back and right at the end pulled out again to take an 11 point lead 33 to 22. Here's how the first half scoring went. Jake Ellison off the bench did not score. Colby Levitt off the bench also did not score. Brian Levitt came off the bench, went 041 from the free throw line. This could be a lot tighter if Snow Canyon had hit the front ends of their one on one situation as the free throw shooting has not been that sharp for Snow Canyon after as far as the as the reserves go now, as far as the starters are concerned. Matt Hickman with a couple of field goals, 1 for 2 from the free throw line, a total of five points here in the first half of play for John Hafen, 2 for 2 from the free throw line and a three pointer for a total of five first half points for Hafen. He hit his first half or his first half points all at the beginning of the second quarter of play. In fact, he had outscored Dixie five to nothing in that second quarter at one point and so that's how he got his five points. As far as Brian Hatch, I didn't mention him reserve in that first half, went over one from the free throw line and did not score. Now the rest of the starters, Theo Beck who has been a power for Snow Canyon, has been clogged up by Dixie as Beck has just been shut right down by the Flyers. Only one basket, a total of two points and he had the only Basket for Snow Canyon for quite a while in that first quarter. Rashad Swenson held at just one second quarter basket, but Ben Lane hit the board tied and did an excellent job for a few a total of 8 points in that first half of action. And there you have the 22 points for Snow Canyon. Here's how the 33 points for Dixie is distributed. Shane Parishamp came off the bench, hit one out of two baskets for a total of two points. Clint Alexander just struggled when he came off the bench, played only in the second quarter and not very long. He picked up two quick fouls. Matt Goodman got a great his tap in for a basket as Cody Bundy missed the shot and Matt Goodman knuckled that one back up and in, went off his knuckles up and in for a total of two points. Larry Stevenson has matched his career high already with two baskets, one in each quarter. He has not scored a whole bunch for Dixie, but has gotten some huge rebounds. A total of four points for Stevenson here in the first quarter of play. First half of play, Todd Rignell off the bench has not been allowed to get loose and so he has not had any points. Snow Canyon doing a good job on Rignell. So Dixie has gone five players deep off the bench and has six points off the bench for Snow Canyon. Their bench has produced no points, so no scoring by the benchmen for Snow Canyon. Among the starters for Dixby, Corey Wegkamp drilled a three pointer on an inbound pass and that's been his sum total of scoring thus far. Cody Bundy with two field goals that were two pointers in the first quarter, then added a three pointer in the second quarter, has a total of seven points for the Flyers. Brent Garasoli, after having back to back non double figure ball games, has a two pointer, a three pointer and three, four, four from the free throw line. A total of eight first half points. So he's starting to score like he did earlier in the year for Andre Sparks. He hit a two pointer and a three pointer in that second quarter and for a while he was the sum total of the offense for Dixie High School. And Adam Monson, a nice little jump shot from along the baseline has a total of two points on on the night and that's how the 33 points shake out for Dixie at the half. Some of the stories of that first half. Dixie, with six turnovers in the first quarter, four in the second quarter, for a total of 10 in that first half. For Snow Canyon, they had 10 turnovers in the first quarter, and that was part of the reason why Dixie was able to jump out to that early lead and then added five more turnovers in that second quarter. So 15 turnovers already for Snow Canyon, and that's a little bit of a challenge to try to deal with right now for the Warriors. They cut down on that in the second half. Last night in the girls action, Snow Canyon came up with a big win over Dixie, 87 to 50 in Snow Canyon, who played for the state championship just two years ago, finishing second in the state in only their second year in existence, is in the process of putting together another outstanding team. The Snow Canyon Lady Warriors, 87 to 50. Chanel Rose had 25 points last night. Pine View overwhelmed Cedar city by a 60 to 42 margin. And Cedars and Hurricane dump Canyon View 68 to 31. That was Region 9 girls basketball action last night. Here in the junior varsity game today, Dixie led by five at the end of the first quarter, by 17 at the end of the third quarter, and still lost to Snow Canyon, 40 points in the fourth quarter by the Warriors. Dixie has the ball to begin the second half of action. 33, 22. Garrizoli sparks back to the original starting lineup. Bundy, Monson and Wake Camp.
