Dixie vs Maramac game 3 A/B sides

Lodged behind one of those pads. Only one base, Sudbury on at second base. Brad Parker, a chance to bring somebody home. The ball hit hard to left field. That one's going to drop. Sudbury with a ricochet off the left field fence. Parker has at least a stand up double and Sudbury's home. So Brad Parker, an RBI double as he ripped that one off the left field fence. And Sudbury is home. And it's a one nothing lead for Dixie. And Parker, who went quietly into the Sunday night against St. Louis. Merrimack has the hot bat now. Two doubles in two days, plus the home run. KL Sheppard, 1 for 6. Yesterday the goatee went. Today the pitch breaking pitch, misses ball one. Three strikes thrown by Henneman. One hit on the ground of the shortstop. One hit foul and one hit off the left field wall. One zero pitch hit hard to left field and gate. Kale shepherd is going to hit it. One bounce off the fence. Parker's going to score. Shepard may have a chance for three. No, he'll pull in with a double, so Cale Shepard will keep the chin clean. Back to back RBI doubles and Dixie leads two to nothing and the Rebels as Shepard goes the opposite way with a pitch outside and rips it to left field. Wyatt Cloud, who walked twice, but part of the reason it was frustrating, took a call. Third strike with the bases loaded and one man out in the sixth inning yesterday. The question is Cloward, who got the first base hit off of St. Louis Merrimack on Sunday, takes a pitch up and in ball one. No warm up action yet for St. Louis. Down to nothing right off the bat as Dixie's jumping on Hanneman early. The pitch called strike. And that's the first called strike that Hanneman has gotten. First time he's thrown it by a hitter. Shepherd on at second base. One man out, two runs in top of the first inning. Breaking pitch. Way out in front is Cloward. One two count, but it gets away from the catcher onto third base. So a pass ball and Shepard as the catcher for St. Louis. Jason Shepard got a little lackadaisical that you go as a pass ball and Shepard now at third. Wyatt Cloud, if he can get it to the outfield, will get around home. The pitch behind him almost hit him. Two two counts as far as postseason play goes. Wyatt Cloud the leader, being hit by a pitch. He's been dinged five times. Dixie batters have been hit eight times and five of the times it's been cloudered with a bruise. 22 pitch coming up to Wyatt Cloward the pitch hit on the ground to the third baseman, shepherd coming home. Third baseman Lefebvre throws him out, but Cloward gets the RBI and it's a three nothing lead. So the pass ball key and Cloud out five to three, but has the rbi, two men out and Troy Tuttle coming to the plate. So Cloud hit it wide of third base and gets the man home. Troy Tuttle yesterday ended up with two base hits. Won a key base hit in that 10th inning to then become the potential winning run. And that potential turned into truth as he was the man that slid across the base to get the 11th and final run of the day for Dixie. Ball one, Detroit Tuttle. Skeeter Ellison waiting on deck. Tuttle ball two, two. Oh, count. So Dixie came with their hitting shoes on. The question is, will the gloves match? 3 Nothing Dixie with a lead. Top of the first inning. Hanneman into the wind, up to the plate. Fastball called, strike two. One, Detroit Tuttle. Ellison waiting on deck. Skeeter having a terrible day yesterday. Until the hit the pitch. Chop foul towards the Gordon, Jolly up and over his head. No chance for the offensive lineman to make the great play at third base. Beyond third base, I should say. So it's a 22 count, Detroit Tuttle. Mike Hanneman into the wind, up with two men out. Top of the first inning, the pitch up ball three. Full count to Troy Tuttle and Skeeter Ellison chomping at the bit, ready to go to feed at home plate. Hanneman to the plate. 32 pitch. Hit off the fist towards the third baseman. Lefebvre up and throws wide to first base and gets it. The first baseman, Sissel making a great tag as Tuttle tried to slide under it wide. But Sissel came down with the tag. And so a great play by Sissel. And out five to three, Dixie almost with another baserunner. So in that inning, three runs on a total of two booming bases. No errors and nobody left on base. And at the end of a half inning at 63, St. Louis Merrimack, nothing. Back after this timeout. Sony Quality Electronics and the Boulevard Home Furnishings. Then Steve Stawasinski and Mark Pier, the right fielder. And so those are the three who will face Mason Fox in the bottom half of the first inning. Fox a complete game shutout, albeit a five inning shutout against Snow Collect and. The loss to Arizona Western. Mason Fox has given up eight runs in postseason play, not one of them earned. So his earned run average is still zip one and one in postseason six and three on the year. First pitch by Fox. Breaking pitch down low. Ball one to Mike Brown. Brown went over three against Dixie the other night. On Sunday night in the series, Stalozinski is still a leading hitter for St. Louis Meramec. The pitch just misses low. Ball two two zero count to Mike Brown. So Dixie now staked to a 3 nothing lead. The the challenge for Mason Fox is to keep it, keep that lead pitch in the dirt. Ball three and a three zero count. So you got to keep him St. Louis Merrimack at bay. Coach Todd Whaley in the pregame shows as we mentioned as you probably heard him thought it might be a slugfest today. The pitch misses inside. So matching what happened to Craig Peterson, leadoff man is on by way of the base on Paul Mark. Fear waiting on deck. But it's Steve Stalwazinski. Stala Zinski who committed an error in the first inning against Dixie, then came back with four hits including two RBIs. Pitch call strike. So Stavasinski Dixie ahead three nothing, back to back RBI doubles and then the ground ball RBI by Wyatt Cloud. And Dixie led three nothing on at first base to pick off over by Fox. And back in easily is Mike Brown. Brown with some speed scored a couple of runs against Dixie in that disastrous eight error ball game. Pitch called strike two. Stavasinski turned his shoulder just a little bit and that fastball just caught that Inside corner Stavasinski. Oh 2. Part of the key might be Dixie's defense. Pitch called strike three. Hits that outside corner with a fastball and Stahlisinski goes meekly back to the bench. So the 62 freshman starting off well. Mark Beer who hit a home run yesterday for St. Louis Merrimack. The only home run of the tournament, the 8th of the year. The pitch hit in the air and fairly deep to left field, right down that line. And that's going to go out. It's going to be home run number two for Pierre. And it's a three to two ballgame. He pulled it high and just over that 302 side. So Fox gives up the two run home run and it's a three to two ball game. Mark Pier jumped on the left hander right off the bat as Fox hung one. He's been known to do that. And those are the first earned runs that Mason Fox has given up in postseason. Matt Schufa coming to the plate. So one man out and two runs are in. Not really a whole bunch of fans for St. Louis Meramec. I heard a few applauding over there, but it doesn't seem like there's as big a crowd over there or as vocal as for Dixie Fox to the play. Pitch called strike to match Schufa. Schufa the shortstop, good hitter, outstanding hitter, really has not come on track. But Pierre starting to a pitch. Up and away. Ball one one, one count. One of the questions is going to be can Dixie keep the ball down in the strike zone that time Pierre just lofted it over the left field fence. Pitch swung on and missed. Strike two. So Fox comes back with a good fastball. One two count to Matt Schufa spelled CIU F F A slow curveball, misses outside count. Evens at two balls, two strikes. And for Fox, the answer was no. He could not keep a three nothing lead. He's trying to keep a three two lead now. Breaking pitch in the dirt, ball three. So this may be a wild ride. You're down to the number three starters for both sides. Fox to the plate. Breaking pitch in the dirt, ball four. Gets away from the catcher. And so four men faced. One man called out on strikes and three make first base. One of them hits the home run. Shepard, who had the only other extra base hit by St. Louis Merrimack against Dixie. And that was the double Sunday. In fact, the only extra base hit off of Jeff Garfield. Shepherd, two for four, double, three rbi. Could be the go ahead runner. And there's still only one man out. Mason Fox, as the hitters look like you're going to be king today. Pitch fouled off over our head. Strike one. So Fox trying to keep ahead of the batters. Jason shepherd spelled almost like Shepherd S C H E P E R Right handed hitting catcher. The pitch up. Ball one one One count. Mason Fox working a little more rapidly than he normally does. Little warm up activity down the sidelines for St. Louis Merrimack. The pitch to shepherd. Called ball just went around the plate. Tried to hit that outside corner and the breaking pitch didn't quite get to it. Fox at 6:2, muscular to the plate. Fastball hit high in the air to right field. Brad Parker drifting back, still drifting. And has it just in front of the warning track. The ball will carry. Apparently Shepard hit it nine miles up. Parker had plenty of time to get under it. Darren Sissel coming to the plate. Sissel, the first baseman, batting right handed against the left hander. Switch hitter. We discovered now because this is the first left hander that Sissel has faced. Open stance, right handed. The first pitch by Fox fisted down that right field line. It may drift foul. Parker's trying to catch up with a dozen. And it is a foul ball. Strike one. Strike one count to Darren Sissel. Sissel comes in as one of the fastest ballplayers for St. Louis. Merrimack hitting 167 in the series on the year. Cecil among the leading hitters at 331. Has enough power to have a couple of home runs. But not considered one of the real power hitters. One of the top. Stolen base. In fact the leader in stolen bases with 22. A pitch. Low curve ball in the dirt. Ball 1 1, 1 count to Darren Sizzle. Tim May on deck. Mason Fox has given up a two run home run to bring it back to a three to two ballgame pitch. Swung on and missed with a high fastball. Strike two. Fox heat against. A good quick swing. And the heat got it. Warm day. Wind slightly blowing out. Just a slight, slight breeze towards center field. So the ball will carry this afternoon if you get it up in the air. One, two pitch. The runner goes. A pitch. Hit in the air. Foul. Scott Sudbury over right in front of the St. Louis dugout and has it for the third out to retire the side. So the two run home run brings St. Louis Merrimack back to within one at the end of a bottom half of the first inning. Two runs on one base hit, no errors and a man left. And at the end of one complete, it's Dixie three, St. Louis Merrimack two back after this timeout. Sign up today for Con Net Cellular's free weekend of phone calls for two months. But one swing at the bat by Mark Pierre and that made it three to two instead of a three nothing lead. Skeeter Ellison, Brad Thorne, Justin Garrett two up four Dixie, bottom third of the order. They were not particularly productive early yesterday, but by the time it was all over, Brad Thorne had two base hits. Keeter Ellison had the the RBI double and Justin Garrett had added a double. Made it a potential to score. But he never did score. First pitch to Skeeter Ellison, way outside, ball one. Ellison who went wild against St. Louis Merrimack, tripled in one run. Doubled against St. Louis. Pitch it hard and deep to right field. Back goes the outfielder and Ellison has a home run. Skeeter Ellison just levels that one out to center to right field. Ellison makes it a 42 lead and Skeeter Ellison the RBI that is his home run number four, four in postseason and seven on the year. And Skeeter Ellison makes it a 42 ballgame. Second pitch and it is gone. Brad Thorne who had a two run home run against the St. Louis Merrimack in that first game. The pitch called strike on that inside corner. Going back through some of the history of the juco. Some fascinating history. Breaking pitch lifted into the air right above the pitchers mound. Coming in is the first baseman. Sissel drifts a little bit more towards him. So popping out to the first baseman is Thorne. Thorne has had kind of an interesting swing, almost chopping straight down on the ball last few days. Every once in a while he'll level it off and get the base hit. Justin Garrett with one man out and a run in. Garrett at the plate doubled yesterday. His first hit in the juco. First pitch called strike. So Hanneman settling down but not before Skeeter Ellison hits a home run. Ball may fly out of here today. Second home run of this tournament today. Pick it hard and deep to left field. Back goes the left fielder. It is off the fence. Justin Garrett almost had his first home run he'll pull into second base with another double. Misjudged by the left fielder. Mike Brown thought he had it and it just continued to carry. So Garrett, second double of the tournament. And coming to the plate is Craig Peterson. Peterson. Craig Peterson walks his first time up, four to two. Dixie with the advantage and still threatening. Man on second base. And Hanneman not fooling many people so far. Craig Peterson. Base on balls to start things. We're in the top of the second inning. Pitch top at the plate. Goes out towards the second baseman, hustling as the second baseman gets his man. But moving on to third is Garrett. A good piece of hitting by Peterson anyway. Looked almost like he fouled it at the plate, but it popped out, hit right in front of the plate and then lofted over the pitcher's head. Good play by the second baseman for St. Louis Merrimack. Steve Stalozinski. Stahlzinski been a thorn in Dixie's side. Buggy Sudbury reached on a fielder's choice his first time. The pitch outside, ball one. Sudbury with a home run yesterday. A double and an RBI single. He just had a huge day yesterday. The pitch outside, ball two. 2o count buggy Sudbury. I did cheat him out of a home run. He's actually had six on the year. Trying to update my stats. Pitch up. Ball three. He turned Sudbury loose. Three and oh, he's hitting hot right now and is one of the candidates for the big stick award. Mark Pierce starting to creep back into there. Stavasinski is pitched inside and ball four. Sudbury on at first base. So men at the corners. A little more action by St. Louis Merrimack. And coming to the plate now is Brad Parker. Parker, an RBI double his first time up 4 to 2. Dixie with the lead back to back. RBI doubles in that first inning by Parker and Cale Sheppard and a solo home run to lead off the second inning by Skeeter Ellison. There goes Sudbury. Breaking pitch called strike. And Sudbury has the stolen base. One strike on Brad Parker. First base is now open, so Parker, if he gets into the gap someplace, will score two back if he hits it hard. Any place he could score two. The pitch misses. Ball one. One. One count KL Sheppard anxious to come up now obviously from the way he swung the bat the first time. Back into a little more of the groove. Into the wind up Hanneman coming to the plate. Slow curveball. Way out in front is Parker and just fouled it off. One. Two count. Two men out. Top of the second inning. Dixie with a couple of men on and one run in so far, the four to two lead. So Dixie still hitting the ball against St. Louis Merrimack. They hit the ball hard the other night. Five runs, all of them earned. And I mean some of them, some real shots hit off of Sabota who pitched very well. Pitch hits Parker that loads the bases. Just what he did not want to do on a 12 count. And coach Todd Whaley wants to come out and talk to his pitcher. So Hanneman, as coach Todd Whaley said, can either be very good or very bad. And right now he is struggling. And that's it for the pitcher as Hanneman will go to the sidelines and a new pitcher will come in. Let's take this time out. Dixie with two men out, top of the second inning. 42 lead for the Rebels. Back after this. He worked one and two thirds innings and it's a hit by pitch that gets him out of there. New pitcher for St. Louis Merrimack will be number 19, Jim Goforth. So Jim Goforth making the appearance. Go forth. A 6 foot 6 inch 240 pound left hander, same size as Hanneman. North to south it's east to west that he's a little bit bigger, 240 pounds as opposed to 180 pounds. Making his first appearance in this tournament and on the year for Go Forth Go forth has a 3.21 earned run average, not bad seven and two record and has started 12 games. Completed five. So he's normally a starter. Likely have would have been the starter if they had not gone with Hanneman. Cale shepherd, left handed hitter against the left handed pitcher and shepherd has hit left handers Fairly well this year. Comes up with the bases loaded and two men out. Maybe a key time for Dixie. If St. Louis Merrimack can escape now, he might have a little momentum. If Gail Shepard gets at least a couple of runs home and Dixie may be off to the races. Shepherd, an RBI double, his first time up. First pitch by. Go forth. It is a call. Strike. So Shepard now has seen Go forth Gael Shepherd. I noticed this morning that he shaved off the goatee. And I said, what happened? And he said, well, one for six and you have to do something to change the pitch. Called strike two. Shepherd yesterday, his one was a big one. It was a single to lead off the 10th inning. And he eventually came around to score the tying run on Skeeter Ellison's double. So no. 2 pitch to Shepherd. Here comes Goforth and he misses outside. Go forth. Big, big wind up. He starts and it takes a lot to uncurl. By the time he's through. 6ft 6, 240 pounds, southpaw against Cale Shepard. Shepard, if he goes the other way, may have a little place to run. Pitch hit foul towards third base. So he was not thinking pulling all the time. If he gets the pitch inside shepherd, these fences well within reach. It's 400 to dead center. And yes, there is a green screen out there, but it's beyond the center field fence. You can hit that batter's backdrop screen over the center field fence and have a home run. The pitch chopped at the plate. Foul. Slow curve ball. Shepherd spoils. A good pitch. Shepard looking more in control. A little bit more in control with his pitch today with his bat. Getting the good swings as needed on a very warm day at Grand Junction, Colorado. Into the wind up, go forth. The pitch fouled once again towards third base. And so shepherd spoils. Another good pitch. Still a one, two count. Close the door and cut off the circulation. I open up the circulation. I may lose my stats. We'll move them down below. Open up the circulation again a little bit. Cale Shepherd. 1, 2 pitch by go fourth, top of the second pitch. Fouled off again. And Gael shepherd, four straight foul balls after taking two strikes. Again, a derisive round of applause from some of the fans on the far side. Dixie with the red uniforms hitting much better today than they did Sunday. And they hit fairly well Sunday. Pitch to shepherd in the dirt. Gets away from the catcher, but not far enough for anyone to score. Two, two count. Over at third is Justin Garrett after the double. On its second is buggy Sudbury after being walked and over at first Base is Brad Parker. Parker number two and being hit by a pitch after the regular season as he's been dinged three times now. The pitch to shepherd in the dirt. Gets away from the catcher, but he keeps it in front of him. Good play by Jason Shepard. So now it's a 3, 2 pitch. Cale shepherd, after being down oh and 2, has worked this to a 3, 2 pitch with two men out. Top of the second and you start the merry go round. Everybody runs. Brad Parker getting the walking lead. Everybody taking off. The pitch to shepherd hit hard and foul deep, but foul going the other way. So Shepard not really getting around on Go forth. Either that or everything's outside and he's going with it. And it doesn't look like he's really getting around that much on Go forth. Bring everybody back to their respective sacks and start the merry go round again. Go forth into the wind. Up here goes the music. There goes the merry go round. The pitch to shepherd hit in the air. Foul. Fouled again. That is six foul balls since shepherd had two strikes. Gordon Jolly hollering at him. Hit it that way, hit it that way. I'm tired of beating the target of this. Good aerobic exercises. Wind sprints by the infield. The baserunners fouled off again, this time straight back. Shepherd. Tremendous amount of foul balls. And what a battle between Goforth and Shepherd. GoNorth has thrown 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Nine strikes and three balls to shepherd and Shepherd is playing foiled. Seven out of those nine strikes, seven foul balls in this time out. There they go again. The pitch to shepherd hit hard towards the shortstop. Shortstop's going to have to make the play to first. And does. And so they get the app. Dixie Strands three runners. And that is not what they wanted to do. And KL Sheppard battled and battled and battled and then got the ground ball to Shufa. Shufa wanted to make the shovel toss to the second baseman, but the runner was already there in that inning. One run on two base hits, no errors and three big ones left. And at the end of three and a two and a or an inning and a half, I should say we go to the bottom of the second. Dixie with a 42 lead. Back after this. We're growing strong sun capital bright. We're number one. Sun capital bright. We're growing strong capital br sun. EDG Fashion Floors at 225North Bluff has a showroom full of everything to decorate your home or office beautifully. Call for a free consultation. Home of the Capture Dry Cleaning system for carpet and rugs too. EDG fashion floors your trust Mark and Carpetback Steeler. Bottom of the second inning, 4 2. Dixie with a late first pitch to Tim May. Call strikes. So Mason Fox given a two run lead this time. Had a three run lead at the end of the first inning. Gave up a two run home run to Mark Pier. Bottom of the second Merrimack pitch. Hit hard and high and shallow to left right field. Went up high but not very deep. And a fly ball to Brad Parker. Dixie committed eight errors against St. Louis. Merrimack did not make the the usual plays. And that was part of the reason why Dixie lost Sunday. Talking with a lot of the kids, they wanted another shot at St. Louis Merrimack. They felt like it was a good team. There's no such thing as a bad team in this tournament. But they felt like they could play better. Pitch to Mike Lefevre. Ball 1, 10 count to Mike Lefaber, the third baseman, right handed hitter. Lefaber making his first appearance I believe in this tournament. It is first time at that pitch called strike. So Lefevre takes a ball, takes a strike. First time against Dixie also obviously 11 pitch to the third baseman. Hit hard and deep to left field and that one's going to be out that short porch and those short fly balls and there's another home run. So Lefebvre hits a home run over the left field fence. And it's a four to three ball game. Almost the same spot the Mark Pierre hit his home run and Suddenly there are three home runs by St. Louis Merrimack. And it's a four three ball game. And Brad Thorne goes out to Mason Fox. Something about don't hang the curveball. And it's come in with a big. That comes in with a big sign that says hit me. And Fox has given up three runs, four to three ball game. Two home runs by shepherd by St. Louis Merrimack. Dixie is yet to hit. One out. Well, I shouldn't say that did. He did have the home run by Skeeter Ellison. That's three home runs in this game. Pitch swung on and missed by Chad Thorpe. Thorpe had two hits in four times up against Jeff Garf Sunday. Number nine hitter in the order. One man out, a run in and it's a four three ball game. Difference is Ellison's home run. Slow curveball, misses inside. Ball one, Mason Fox, the freshman Dixie needs to get as many innings as they can out of Fox. The pitch hit on the ground towards the second baseman Justin Garrick Gobbles it up and throws him out. So Dixie fans below us in favor of that. All in favor say aye or applaud. And they did. Two men out and Mike Brown coming to the plate. Brown the only base on balls on. Correction the second first of two base on balls. The Fox has given up. Walk two, struck out one. Brown came around on Mark Pierce Home run pitch outside. Ball one. When you get to this level, you just can't throw the ball in the strike zone. You have to have something on it. You have to have a wiggle, you have to have a break. You have to have a fastball that moves. Big hop to Scott Sudbury. Sudbury across the back has it out five to three. The routine play made. One run, one hit, the home run, no errors, nobody left on base. And at the end of two complete, it's a 43 lead for Dixie. Back after this timeout for all your lighting needs and accessories. Earlier in this tournament we had a huge ball game at 16 to 15 Indian hills. On the short end of that hit eight home runs in that game. There have been now 43 home runs in this tournament. I think the record is 59. We still have a few days to go. There's still a possibility. Dixie with a 4 to 3 lead. The difference is Keeter Ellison solo home run in the second inning. And it becomes very painful now that Dixie stranded three ballplayers on base. Stranded the bases loaded. Wyatt Cloud, Troy Tuttle, Skeeter Allison do up for Dixie against Jim Goforth. Wyatt Cloud grounded out and caught the RBI on the ground out his first time fastball fouled off. Strike one. Cloud has been hot and cold this year. When he gets hot, he gets unbelievably hot. And when he gets cold, he can't touch the ball on the year hitting.322 four home runs so he has the power to reach the fences. Fitch hit on the ground to the third baseman. LeFavre has going to have to make the quick throw. Pulls the man off the bag, but getting the foot back on is thistle about 5 to 3. So Lefebvre known a little more for his offense than his defense, playing third base and it's been a little bit of an adventure with his arm. So one up and one down and Troy Tuttle coming to the plate. Tuttle grounded out to the third baseman on the throw that pulled the first baseman off the bag, but Tuttle was tagged going by anyway. First pitch to Tuttle hit up in the air towards first base. The second baseman Stalwasinski coming over, but Sissel has it shallow on the outfield grab. So a quick two outs on three pitches and Skeeter Ellison coming to the plate. Ellison took a 10 pitch and lined it over to the right field. Fences last time up. Switch hitting left fielder. He gets to turn around this time. Did not have success right handed yesterday. Struck out twice against the southpaw. Normally a better hitter than that right handed. The first pitch to Ellison hit loop towards right field. Going back is Dawasinski and makes a great running catch. So there's your third out to retire this fight. So Ellison three up, three down in the top of the third inning and Go forth has found the secret that Hanneman did not. At the end of two and a half innings it's 4 3, Dixie with the lead back after this timeout. Bottom of the third inning. Steve Stalazinski, Mark Pierre, Matt Schufa scheduled up here, of course, hit the two run home run last time and Dixie hitting the ball hard until that last inning against St. Louis. Merrimack pitching and leaving the bases loaded in the second inning. That may be a critical critical time. Two home runs by St. Louis Merrimack has made a difference. Call strike to Stavozinski Sonski, a strikeout victim his first time up. Went 4 for 5 against Dixie on Sunday. The pitch misses inside. Ball 1, 11 count Mason Fox has a big overhang curveball. Big overhang curveball. The south ball to the plate. That one chased and missed. There it is. One Ball two. Strike count. Stalwazzinski chokes up on the bat just a little bit. Right handed hitting second baseman, good slap hitter. Hit a lot of singles. Big curveball way up high. Ball two, two, two count Mason Fox. Question will be how long will the pitching last on either side? They're getting deeper into the pitch, into the pitching order. Line drive right at Justin Garrett. Dalazinski lines out to the second baseman. And Dixie looking more relaxed in the field today. Just plain looking more relaxed. So we'll see if this holds and if Dixie gets through this without any errors. Mark Pierre, 2 run, home run his first time up. Hit a home run last night. Pitch swung on him, missed with a fastball. So strength against strength. Mark Pierre his ninth home run of the year. That leads St. Louis Merrimack. Shepherd hit his eighth in the district playoffs to break his 77 tie with Pierre. Breaking pitch, fouled off slow curveball, 0, 2 count to Mark Beer. Mason Fox becoming mentally tougher. Question is, can he hang on and can the physical part of it come through today? Breaking pitch outside just missed. Ball one, one two count. A lot of wishful thinking by Dixie fans, but it wasn't that close. One, two count into the wind, up one man out. The pitch to Pierre lifted fisted back towards the second baseman. Going back is Garrett backpedaling into right field and gets it for the second out. Sapir jammed two up, two down. And coming to the plate now, Matt Schuffer. Shufa, I should say Schufa, a shortstop, walked his first time up in this tournament. Schufa is struggling. Pitch called ball just misses inside. Schufa's over eight and has been one of the leading hitters on the year. And obviously the cleanup hitter is about due. Misses outside with a breaking pitch. Two, two count. Mason Fox sometimes will turn that fastball over and get a little screwball action to it. Two, zero count to Shufa. The pitch hit hard to right field. Will it stay fair or foul? It's drifting foul as Fox came back with a good fastball and Schufa didn't quite get around on him, but got enough to get. Drive it a little ways, but it went foul. 21 count wind starting to pick up. And there's a Thunderhead or two that's starting to bounce up against the Grand Mesa. The pitch fouled over towards the coach. Todd Whaley takes a wave at it and everyone saved by an assistant coach over on the bench and waves the glove at it. Two, two count to match. Schufa, Mason Fox to the plate. Breaking pitch in the dirt. Count goes full 3 2. Fox trying to nurse a 43 lead. Jason Sheppard waiting on deck. Mason Fox, the 32 pitch, misses ball four and he walks his third batter of the day. So a man on and coming to the plate. Jason Sheppard. Sheppard fight out to right field his first time up. Mason Fox has given up three runs, only two hits, both of them home runs. So St. Louis Merrimack has not hit Fox necessarily that hard, save for two swings of the bat, but that was enough. The pitch, fastball misses inside. Ball one. Shepherd 0 for 1 today. Shepard hit the ball hard the first two times against Jeff Garf, but since then has not hit Dixie that hard. The pitch hit hard that time it's going to be into left field for base hit backhanded by Ellison. Ellison has the shot at the man at third base. The throw and not in time. So men at first and third. So a single by Sheppard as Ellison cut it off. And Schufa running all the way, dives into third base just ahead of the throw. Ellison made a pretty good throw, but just slightly into the runner. Have a pinch runner coming in. Bob Wilkins will be in for Shepard on the speed up rules. So the potential tying run at third base after the walk and Darren Sissel to the plate. Thistle fouled out to the third baseman his first time up. So the first hit off of Fox, it was something other than a home run. Man at first is Wilkins. The pitch nubbed off the end of the bat, backhanded by Fox who throws him out at first base. So in that inning, no runs, a base hit, no errors and two men left. And at the end of three complete, it's a 43 lead for Dixie. Back after this timeout. Buick the new symbol of quality in America. Dats Trucking top of the fourth inning, Dixie with a 43 lead. We'll start with Brad Thorne, then Justin Garrett, then the top of the order, Craig Peterson. Brad Thorne popped out to the first baseman his first time up batting right handed. Had the RBI single yesterday as he hit the liner over the second baseman's head to drive in a run. So Thorne not hitting as well right handed this year as he did last year, as he did hit a home run right handed if I recall last year and does not have any of his four home runs from the right side. Three of his four home runs have been in postseason play. So Thorne hitting with more power since the season ended. Jim Goforth the pitch outside ball one. So Goforth came in, got KL Sheppard after a battle it went 1, 2, 3. So he's retired. Four straight Dixie batters, something that Hanneman did not do. One zero pitch to Brad Thorne go forth to the plate in four in the dirt ball two. O count Justin Garrett waiting on deck. Dixie with a four three lead. Third round for Dixie and St. Louis Merrimack, the two teams that kind of got bys on this pitch. Hit by Thorne and hit fairly deep to center field, but right there is Chad Thorpe. Thorpe had it measured all the way, got into it a little bit too much to get the single and not enough to drive it over to the center fielders. Head Brad Thorn drop flies out. Justin Garrett to the plate. Garrett almost got his first home run of the year last time as he hit it off the fence for a double, ricocheted away from the left fielder Mike Brown. Kind of a tricky left field to play. Pitch to Garrett, swung on and missed, fouled back. Strike one. Garrett swinging with authority, feeling more confident since his double yesterday, now has two doubles in this tournament. Second baseman opens his stance just slightly against go forth. The pitch hit on the ground towards the third baseman. Lefebvre has to go wide to his left and throw hard and gets the man at first. So six straight batters retired by Goforth and Goforth has found the secret so far, Craig Peterson grounded after the second baseman. His last time up. Walked his first time up, so he's 0 for 1. Dixie's bats have gone silent against the left hander. Dixie has normally hit left handers with a vengeance, but not so much in this tournament. Although they didn't do too badly yesterday against Gearing Jay Geary. The pitch down low. Ball one. One ball count to Craig Peterson. Peterson has hit and been hitting the ball well in postseason play. Has picked up a bunch of RBIs in postseason play. The pitch to Peterson chopped over the head of the pitcher. It's going to be a tough play for Stalozinski. Stalozinski makes the throw and gets him. 1, 2, 3 inning by Dixie again. So Dixie seven straight batters retired by go forth. No runs, no hits, no errors, nobody left. And at the end of three and a half, we go to the bottom of the fourth. A 43 lead by Dixie. Back after this timeout. First pitch to designated hitter Tim May is down low. Ball one. May popped up to the second baseman his first time up. Fox still looking for his first one two three inning pitch. Hit on the ground up the middle into center field. That will be a base hit. That one had eyes. That was part of what happened to St. Louis Merrimack. Sunday is when they had hits against Jeff Garp who was right up the middle where nobody was. So leadoff man is on Mike Lefebvre. Lefebvre his last time up, hit a solo home run his only time at bat in the juco and he hits a solo home run. So he's one for one. That got it back to a four three ball game pitch to Lefebvre. Call strike on that outside corner. On it first is Tim May May had an RBI single against Dixie on Sunday. So he has two hits against the Rebels. Bottom of the fourth inning, Dixie with a 43 lead. Faking the bunt. Fox throws over to first. Almost box as he didn't step as much towards first base as you would expect. So Lefebvre has given away that he may be budding now. Has Todd Whaley taking that off. Lefevre is still looking at his third base coach. Third base coach touching various portions of the anatomy all describable. This is a family station and he didn't touch anything untoward. Ground ball hit off of Fox's glove. He's going to have to go to first. Throws it kind of meekly to first base. And because Fox didn't get it directly, no double play on at second base is Tim May and one man out. So the potential tying run at second base and Chad Thorpe at the plate. Thorpe Grounded after the second baseman, his first time up. Mike Brown waiting after him. 4 3. Dixie with the lead. Bottom of the fourth inning. St. Louis Meramex threatening once again. Mason Fox looks at second, comes to the plate. The pitch hit in the air to center field and fairly deep back goes Craig Peterson. Peterson is not going to catch up with that one. May should score. Peterson grabs it. The throw coming into the shortstop tunnel. The throw to third base and it'll be a stand up triple as it hits the runner and goes away from the play. No error on the play and the run is home. So a stand or a sliding triple by Thorpe ties the ball game at 4. And now that inning where Dixie left the runner stranded in the second when they had the bases loaded. It looks huge. And the potential go ahead run now at third base. Mike Brown coming to the plate. It's a 44 tie. Dixie and St. Louis Merrimack. And Dixie's bass has suddenly gone silent. Mike Brown has walked and has grounded out. Dixie needs to win to play tomorrow. Same thing. St. Louis Meramec pitch hit in the air to right field. Brad Parker going back. That one is going to be over Parker's head. That's going to get the go ahead run home. The throw coming to second base and a stand up double by Brown. So Fox not fooling anybody and it's a 54 ball game. Let's see if we get some more. My back in. Aaron McArthur hustling down to the bull fence. So back to back triple and double and it's a 5 to 4 lead for St. Louis. Meramac. Parker just playing, couldn't Catch up to that one. That one carried a little. It would have gotten a run home anyway. Fox serving up some fat ones right now. The pitch. Tall strike to Sulazinski. Solazinski lined out to the second baseman his last time up. Took a called third strike his first time up. The only strikeout the Mason Fox has today. 5 to 4. St. Louis Merrimack has taken the lead. The pitch fouled off count, his own two. Mark Beer waiting on deck. Aaron McArthur has given up a lot of hits, but has picked up two wins in postseason play. Two key wins. Starting to loosen up. Dixie's gotten complete games out of Jeff Garfield and out of Lance Lambert. The pitch down low. Ball one. One two count. Can Fox battle through this here in the bottom of the fourth inning, St. Louis Merrimack teeing off on Mason Fox. Here comes the pitch. Breaking pitch, hit hard right at the second baseman. Garrett grabs another line drive just above the chute tops. So Stalozinski. Two line drives right at the second baseman. Two men out. And coming to the plate is Mark Pierre. Pierre popped out to the second baseman his last time in a two run home run his first time up. So Pierre starting to find the range in the juco. Fox looks back at second base to the plate. Breaking pitch, misses outside. Ball one. The danger is now you're in the fat part of the order. They take that part, the fat, that part. That's it. Really sting. The pitch off the foot, fouled. Pierre gets up and limps around. He stretches that instep a little bit. That one hurts. He hit it off the foot. It started up the third baseline and Pierre ended up on one knee, partially because of the pain on that one. He's okay. One one count. Mason Fox trying to wiggle out after giving back to back long hits. The pitch hit hard towards the third baseman. Foul. Scott Sudbury, great range. Almost caught up with that one, even though it was 10ft foul by the time it got to him. One, two count to Mark Pierre. The St. Louis Merrimack swinging at Fox like they have no fear at all. The pitch Breaking pitch. Case and miss in the dirt. Or is a foul tip. Foul tipped apparently. Count holds one and two. Just tip. Pierre just barely got a little bit of the bat on that one. One, two count to Mark Pierre. On its second base is Chad Thorpe, or it should say Mike Brown. The pitch inside two two count. Mike Brown on at second base. Thorpe has already scored. Brown with a double just over the head of Brad Parker. Mason Fox, 2, 2 pitch coming up To Pierre. The pitch, the fastball hit hard off the mound over the head of the shortstop. It hit the rubber and bounced up and over Troy Tuttle. And so it run us home. Another hard hit ground ball and Pierre has another RBI. And it's a 6 to 4 lead in St. Louis. Merrimack making mincemeat out of Mason Fox right now. So Fox has not fooled anybody, really. Closest has been Mike lefaber's ground ball back to back to the pitcher. And if you look at that, that ground ball could have been two outs. And Van Chaddorf's triple is something else. Fox is working out of the full wind up too. That's a different pitch. Hit hard into right field. Another base hit. Brad Parker ready to challenge the runner, but knowing better, Pierce stops at second base. So Chufa gets his first base hit of the series. Man on it. First and second. Aaron MacArthur still warming up, but not quite warm enough. Jeff Garf down to protect his pitcher. So it's a 6 to 4 lead as three big ones in this inning. And at the play, Jason shepherd, who aligned a single his last time. A breaking pitch up high, ball one. Fox just not doing it here in this inning. Brad Thorn now wants to talk to Mason Fox. And that's part of the make sure that Aaron MacArthur can get warm situation. Fox likely to stay with this hitter, Jason Shepard. But Sissel may be facing another pitcher if shepherd is not out. The pitch to Shepherd. The pitch called strike at the knees. Good fastball. If Fox can settle down, Dixie's bats might get going again. But they've gone suddenly silent against Jim Goforth. Fox into the stretch, books at second to the plate. The pitch lifted into the air and deep to left field. Ellison is going to watch that one sail out. And that's a three run home run by Shepard. Shepherd hits his ninth home run of the year. And Mason Fox being racked around and making a nine to four ball game as three runs come in on that one. And Dixie being leveled by St. Louis Merrimack. And that will be it. Gordon Jolly gambling. One pitcher too long or one pitch or one batter too long, I guess. And Aaron MacArthur coming in. That's it for Mason Fox. Let's take this time out. Bottom of the fourth inning, six runs in and Mason Fox goes to the sideline. Darren MacArthur to try to stop the flood. It's a nine to four ball game. St. Louis Merrimack out in front of Dixie, back after this timeout. Sony Quality Electronics into Boulevard Home Furnishings. Your camcorder headquarters invites you to camcorder. Dixie Deli opens seven days a week in design Factory outlet mall in southern Utah. This is the sports leader, KSGI AMNFM, St. George. So at the nine to four ball game, suddenly six runs here in the bottom of the fourth inning. Mason Fox just not fooling anybody in the home run by Jason Shepard. And you just don't hang one to him. He hit it over the left field fence. Skeeter Ellison thought he might have a shot and then realized he took a few steps back and that was it. So Aaron McCarthy. Aaron McCarthy is the new pitcher for Mason Fox. He's on the line for this one. Gave up nine runs, all of them earned. Nine hits, Walk three, struck out one. So Mason Fox not getting the job done today. And Dixie down nine to four. It's going to be a slugfest for Dixie to get back into this one. Darren Sissel shifts around here. Go from the right side against Aaron McArthur. Bases are clean thanks to Jason Shepard. Pitch up and in. Ball one, ninth man to come to the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning for St. Louis Meramec and Aaron MacArthur, who would be the fourth day starter. The pitch up and away. Ball two. Two zero count and MacArthur cannot afford to be wild. Dixie getting two excellent efforts out of Jeff Garf and Lance Lampert. Almost wasted because of defensive problems. The pitch called strike. MacArthur likely to give up a lot of hits and at times a lot of runs. And at times he keeps the runs down. It's been an interesting watch on MacArthur this year. Pitch swung on a mission. It's wiggled a little bit and Sissel never caught up with it. Two, two count to Darren Sissel. MacArthur likes to use his fielder's pitch. Hit on the ground. Almost backhanded by McArthur. Touch by him. The throw to Tuttle from Tuttle onto first base. It'll go actually 1 to 6 to 3 and Dixie with a defensive jam. But in that inning, six runs on a total of six hits, no errors and nobody left on base. And it's a 9 to 4 lead for St. Louis Merrimack at the end of four. Back after this timeout. That six run fourth inning as Fox was racked around and could not keep the ball in the ballpark. Three home runs off of Fox, one in the first, one in the second. The big three run shot by Jason Sheppard in the fourth inning and St. Louis Merrimack, like they're taking batting practice, had nine hits offer. Mason, Fox, buggy Sudbury. A walk reached on a fielder's choice, scored 30 for 1. The pitch misses inside ball one. Sudbury, Parker, Shepherd. The advantage for Jim GoNorth is all three of them could hit home runs and he still has a two run lead. The five run lead by St. Louis Merrimack right now. The pitch hit hard by Sudbury into left field. So Sudbury, another base hit between short and third. Hit it by the shortstop Schufa. Sudbury hit it hard, but I know he can hit it harder than that. I don't think he got all of the bat on that ball and still hit it hard. Brad Parker, an RBI double and hit by pitch. He's 141 today and for Parker in postseason play, that was RBI number 17. He's catching up with Gael Shepherd. But shepherd had home RBI number 19 right after it. Pitch to Parker, called strike. Parker looking at the left hander. Parker hit on a 12 pitch his last time up. Brad Parker, sophomore transfer from the University of Utah. Top of the fifth inning. Leadoff man is on go forth to the plate. The pitch hits him. It does. So Brad Parker hit by a pitch again. This time in the lake. Tried to get out of the way. So Sudbury on at second, Parker on at first. And KL Sheppard coming to the plate. Shepherd battle go forth. And then eventually grounded out to the shortstop. Doubled in a run his first time up. His only extra base hit of the juco as he has a hit in each of the three games. KL Sheppard a good time to drive one now. The pitch to Shepherd. Hit on the ground to the first baseman. Sissel backhands. It goes to short for one. Back to first. Not in time. Some men at the corners. And Shepard on by way of the fielder's choice. Parker eliminated three to six. The one man out as KL Sheppard hit it on the ground. And now coming to the plate, Wyatt Cloward. Correction. We're going to have a change now, Cloward. And I think we're going to have Lance Lambert come in in D8. Let's double check. It is. It's going to be Lance Lambert. So Lance Lambert, the new designated hitter. Lambert hitting.100 on the season, but hit the ball deep yesterday. And Lyon Cloud did get the RBI ground ball his last time up. Coach Gordon Jolly a little frustrated right now. So then at the corners. One man out. Top of the fifth inning. Dixie in need of runs and lots of them. The pitch. Outside. Ball one to Lambert. Lance Lambert can swing the bat. 0 for 2 in postseason play on the year. Does have one double to his credit. But no RBIs yet. Faced by to Lambert. Call strike. Lance Lambert winning pitcher yesterday with that 10 inning effort. Looks like he knows what to do with the bat. Can swing the bat, no question about it. Into the stretch. Go forth. Comes to the plate. Breaking pitch. Call strike two. Hits that outside corner. One man out. Men on at first and third. Dixie only one base hit against. Go forth. And that was a leadoff single by Sudbury. Go forth to the plate. The pitch. Swung on and missed. Strike three. So down goes Lambert. Two men out and coming to the plate now, Troy Tuttle. Tuttle grounded out. Popped out. Grounded out to the third baseman. Flight out to the first baseman. Jim Goforth in relief. Doing an excellent job for St. Louis Merrimack. So Dixie starting off like they were going to run roughshod over St. Louis Merrimack did not. And once again, the second inning where Dixie left the bases loaded, has to be one of the keys. The pitch. Fouled off by Troy Tuttle. Strike one. KL Sheppard on at first, Sudbury over at third. Gordon Jolly hollering that encouragement to Troy Tuttle. Dixie on the ropes. Right now. But it's only the fifth inning. There's enough time. The pitch to Jolly, hit deep to left field and to Troy Tuttle. That goes the left fielder right at the fence. Right at the fence. Grabs it for the third out to retire the side. Tuttle, if he pulls at 20ft, has a home run. But instead, that's the third out in that inning. No runs, one hit, no errors and two men left on base again. And at the end of four and a half, it's a nine to four lead for St. Louis. Meramec back after this timeout. And Mike Lefaber and chad Thorpe. Aaron MacArthur, in relief of Mason Fox, got the one man he faced. The Dixie at risk right now. Zabat has gone strangely silent. Part of it is the fact that Brad Parker's been hit twice by pitchers that took care of one big bat right there. Tim May singled and scored. Flight out to his right to the second baseman his first time up. He's one for two on the day. Aaron MacArthur. First pitch, breaking pitch, outside ball one. MacArthur on the year or in postseason play, doesn't have a particularly good earned run average. 7.69 on the year. MacArthur at 4.79. The pitch fisted back into shallow left field. Going back is Troy Tuttle and gets a pop up. So one up and one down and Mike Lefaber coming to the plate. Lefaber with one out in the second inning, hit a solo home run. Aaron McArthur on the state championship Dixie High School team last year, making his first appearance in the JUCO in any capacity. Pitch called strike on that outside corner. MacArthur throwing a little harder than we've seen him throw for a while, so he's good and loose. The pitch. Curveball called strike two. Hadla favors left knee Buckling on that breaking pitch as he threw the big curveball. And the favor had nothing to do with that one except watch it go into the strike zone. Oh, two pitch, fastball cased and miss strike three. But it gets away from the catcher who's in the dirt. And a strikeout. But the man on by way of the wild pitch. So a strikeout and a wild pitch as it hit the plate. And instead of having two outs, there's a man on and one man out. So Thorpe who tripled in a run his last time up is 3, 4, 6 against Dixie. And Thorpe now putting together a pretty decent, pretty decent series. He was 2 for 2 last night. Let me double check that. Nope, Correction. He is 3, 4, 10 on the series. First pitch fouled off strike one. One strike to right handed hitting Chad Thorpe. Thorpe from. Let me double check where he is from. From St. Charles, Missouri. And on a first base breaking pitch called ball one, one count. Dixie thought that they had the strike on that one. Brad Thorne talking a little bit to the umpire right now. You can tell that has not turned around on the umpire will not do that. But he shined a little bit with him. One, one pitch, pick off, over at first. Back in easily is Lefaber. Dixie has some pitchers with some good moves to first, but they're mostly right handers. MacArthur not bad. He's been able to pick off a few two breaking pitch hit to right field, Brad Parker. That one just where Brad Parker wasn't playing him shallow. That will go for a double. Thorpe is going to try for three. Holding on is Thorpe. And the man at first holds on. So Thorpe drove the ball over the head of the right fielder. And that's twice he's hit a deep. Brad Parker playing shallow and holding on to third is lefaber. Lefaber had to hold up for fear that Parker might catch up with that one. So men at second and third and Thorpe with two long drives in St. Louis Merrimack just ripping the ball against Dixie. So two men on instead of two out and a man on at second base. Now Mike Brown who doubled in a run his last time, walked and scored and grounded out. He's one for two. And St. Louis Merrimack trying to ten run Dixie right now they have a five run lead at this point. Breaking pitch, holding up is Brown. They say ball one and nobody appealed. Brown started around and didn't get it and held up. Umpire says ball one infield is in. Fastball fouled off of Brown out towards the pitcher. So it's a 1:1 count. MacArthur's pitches do move, no question about that. He has a deceptive delivery. As a deceptive delivery hides the ball extremely well. 11 count to Mike Brown. The infield is in. Bottom of the fifth inning. The pitch up and in. Ball two two one count to Mike Brown. Stowasinski waiting on deck. Dixie cannot afford to give up any runs anymore. Dixie's only held St. Louis Meramec scoreless in the third inning. Dixie has been scoreless since the second inning. Dixie having the early lead. The St. Louis Merrimack a big six run lead. Did he go around the foul tipped strike two held up and it just skimmed the bat. Empire said foul tip. Two two count. MacArthur trying to get Brown now Installers Inski next infield is in, only one man out. Breaking pitch hit hard into left field. Would have been an easy play for the shortstop. If the infield's not in, one run is in and it's a 10 to four ball game. So Brown hit it right where the shortstop should have been able to handle it. But he was in to try to cut off the run and scoring is Lefabre now. That wild pitch. Lafabre would have been the man on or would have been out, I should say in a matter of inches. And it's a 10 to 4 ball game. Starzinski lined out, lined out, took a call. Third strike. Aaron MacArthur on the mound, into the stretch, comes to the plate. Fastball called strike. Aaron McArthur trying to battle through, has given up a run in this inning. Men at the corners, into the stretch. MacArthur looks at first, comes to the plate. Fastball hits it up on the shoulder. That loads the bases. So the nightmare continues. Thorpe at third, Brown moves to second. Sawazinski on at first base now. And Mark Pier who has an RBI single and a two run home run to his credit in three times up could put this one almost out of reach for Dixie. One man out. Dixie back at the short and second positions in at first and third. The pitch to Pierre hit hard to right field. Brad Parker is not going to catch up with that one off the wall. One run in, two runs in a chance for three. Pierre with a double, a three run double and Pierre rips Dixie. So three RBIs and it's a 13 to 4 lead and Dixie not being able to stop St. Louis Merrimack at all. Thorpe scores, Brown scores. Stavasinski scores. All the way from first and a matter of inches. Dixie now with six RBIs from Mark Pier. And they have not stopped here. And Matt Schuffer. Schuffer with his first base hit of the juco. The cleanup hitter his last time up. Still only one man out. The pitch cull strike. Jason shepherd, who hit a home run his last time up. So St. Louis Merrimack doing to Dixie's pitching what Dixie was doing to St. Louis Merrimack. It began now a 13 to 4 lead. The pitch. They say ball. It hit the rat, the batter, Shuffa, but he did not make an effort to get out of the way. That's twice that's happened against St. Louis Meramec where the pitch hit the batter and the batter did not make an effort to get out of the way. Called ball. And that's twice that home plate umpire made the call immediately. The pitch. Breaking pitch calls. Strike two. No calls ball two. Or did he call it strike? Umpire did not signal that the scoreboard says strike two. Looked like it hit the corner. It's one and two according to the scoreboard. MacArthur looks at second base, comes to the plate. Pitch swung on and missed. Strike two. That is. It was ball two. So it's a two, two counter. Shuffa scoreboard says two men out. They don't realize that a first pitch was that they thought was a strike. I thought was a strike. Aaron McArthur apparently thought it was a strike, was not. So it's a two, two count. The pitch to Shuffa. Breaking pitch down low. Ball three. No warm up actions for Dixie. Next may either be Robbie Allen or Cody Anderson. We have yet to see Cody Anderson in postseason play. In fact, it's been a long time since Anderson is pitched into the stretch. The pitch fisted towards right field. Going back is Justin Garrett. Garrett backpedaling Parker calls him off. And that should be. Is that the third out? I guess it is the third out. As it will go. Shepard actually getting the third out, apparently. And that's the third out to retire the side in that inning. Four big runs on 1, 2, 3 hits, a man left and no errors. And at the end of 5, it's 13 4. St. Louis Merrimack back after this timeout. Flanagan's in Springdale. So apparently it was Schufa who did strike out Shepard. Stepped in there so fast as we looked at the scoreboard, it was shepherd that slide out. And so at the bottom of the or top of the sixth inning, Dixie within one run of being 10 run after five. St. Louis Merrimack came within one run of 10 running Dixie after five. That is still in effect until you get to the championship game. Now Dixie at risk after seven innings. So they actually have six. They have six outs to get two runs to keep this game alive. Otherwise St. Louis Merrimack walks away with the victory and moves on. And Dixie becomes the sixth team to depart Skeeter Ellison. Solo home run popped out to the second baseman his last time up as sending struggling right handed. He is over three right handed Ellison, Brad Thorne, Justin Garrett. Dixie needs some runs and they need him in a hurry against Jim Goforth. And they have yet to get one against Go forth since he came in in relief. Go for it. The pitch. Call strike on that outside corner. Top of the sixth inning, 13 to 4. St. Louis Merrimack with the lead. Jim go forth into the wind, up to the plate. The pitch up. Ball one one. One count Brad Thorne waiting on deck. Dixie. The bats strangely silent. Only one hit since Go forth came on. The pitch to Ellison. Chopped foul count goes to one and two. The big southpaw doing something to Dixie's bass that no one else has been able to do. Dixie's hit the ball very well. 11 runs yesterday had five solid runs against St. Louis Meramec. Sunday. St. Louis wins this one. It's an obvious St. Louis Meramec must be the better of the two teams. It's outside. Ball two. Dixie comes back and Dixie moves on and will play tomorrow afternoon at 3. But they have a long ways to come back. Down by nine runs, 13 to 4. The pitch to Ellison. Two, two pitch. Swung on and missed. Strike three and Ellison goes down and strikeout number two to go forth. And the third strikeout Ellison has had right handed Brad Thorne coming to the plate. Quite out to the center fielder. Popped out to the first baseman. And the red uniforms have not been very good against the green sleeveless uniforms. Actually white with green sleeves. Pitch misses. Ball one that Merrimack have been wearing. One man out, top of the Sixth inning. Dixie at risk of being sent home early and early early. The pitch called strike with a fastball. Brad Thorne, bottom third of the order, produced a solo home run and a double. But that was against Hanneman. They have produced nothing against Jim Goforth yet. Brad Thorn. The pitch down low, ball too ditzy. In need of baserunners, in need of runs, in need of help right now. Offensively, the defense has been there. That's what's been ironic. The defense has been there for Dixie today. In fact, this has been an errorless ballgame between the two so far. Pitch to Thorne, misses inside. Thorne almost pulled the trigger. Pulled back three. One count to Brad Thorne. Batting right handed against the left handed Jim. Go forth, go forth. All six feet, six inches of him to the plate. The pitch chopped in the hole into left field. Base hit Brad Thorn. So Thorne, a one out single. And that gets a man on Bronson. Bills ready to come into the lineup. Bills will be in to run for Brad Thorn. Bill then. And Justin Garrett at the plate. Garrett a double and grounded out to the third baseman in his two times up. Dixie down by nine, 13 to 4. Three in the first, one in the second. They had the lead at that point. The pitch fouled off by Garrett. Strike one. Top of the order. Craig Peterson waiting on deck. So Garrett, the key might be just put it in play someplace, get it to fall. See if Bronson Bills can make it to third and then get to the top of the order. See what Dixie does from there. Dixie did have one 11 run inning against Arizona Western this year. Huge, huge inning in that 21 to 14 victory. The pitch almost gets away from the catcher. It's ball one one. One count to Justin Garrett. Jason Sheppard at the plate or behind the plate. On the mound, Jim Goforth. Goforth looks over at first base at Bills, comes to the plate. Fastball hit in the air. That one into shallow center field. Going back is a shortstop. He may have troubles and will not come up with it. Hustling into second bases, Bronson Bills. So a bloop single by Jess and Garrett. The wind playing a few tricks with that one. Bills was caught out in no man's land, halfway between first and second. Had to wait to see if that one was going to be caught or dropped. Shufa running away from the play, could never catch up with it. And Thorpe was back deep and couldn't catch up with it either. The wind was alternately pushing it out or bringing it back in. So two runners on Dixie really not ripping the ball. Nice little Line drive by Thorne, but it wasn't hit as hard as Dixie had hit earlier. Now Craig Peterson at the plate. Go forth. The first pitch to Peterson, called strike. Peterson grounded out. Grounded out. Walk 0 for 2 today. Down to the second baseman both times. Last time against go forth. First and second Dixie with the runners, one man out. The pitch lifted foul down that third baseline as he goes the other way. Peterson. Oh, two count to Craig Peterson. Dixby with seven hits today, four runs and the red uniforms have not done well by Dixie. Craig Peterson at the plate, top of the sixth inning. Dixie does not have nine innings to play around. They're at risk after six innings as St. Louis Merrimack gets another run without Dixie scoring. A pitch by Go Forth. Lifted foul down that left field line and drifting into the stand once again. 02 Count Scott. Sudbury waiting on deck and definitely at risk because the run margin is there now with a nine run lead after seven innings, we're in the top of the six tonight. It's Odessa versus Indian River. Battle of the undefeateds in this tournament. The pitch misses outside. One, two count. Craig Peterson leaning a little bit on that one. Freshman Craig Peterson. We mentioned before the throw in on the scholarship to Jeff Garf. Peterson came down because he was a friend of Garf's, pretty good ballplayer, made the team and ended up as a starting center fielder. One, two pitch to Peterson. Breaking pitch, swung out and missed strike three. Waved at the slow curveball. Two strikeouts in this inning. That's two men out and Buggy Sudbury to the plate. Sudbury singled, reached on a fielder's choice, walked. He's one for two, hitting over.500 for the series. He's among the leaders for the big stick award and drove in some big runs yesterday. Two run home run and an RBI single to tie the ball game in the ninth inning. Sudbury with men on it. First and second tee time at bat for Disney with Go forth. The pitch bunted down the third baseline. Sudbury is going to have a go foul. Third baseman Lefaber had no shot at him, then finally saw that it was going to take a little bite and go foul and let it go foul. So Sudbury will be back at the plate. Everybody has to retreat. Sudbury one strike count to him. Buggy Sudbury trying to load the bases for Brad Parker. Dixie, if they can get Sudbury on, likely to score as Sudbury can hit the ball someplace as Bronson Bills. Good runner at second base has some speed. Unless it's an infield hit. If Sudbury can drive it into the outfield some way. For a base hit. Bills will probably score. Now you get into the 3, 4, 5 hitters, even though there's two men out. One strike pitch to Buggy Sudbury. Pitch down low. Ball one one. One count Sudbury. Half of his six home runs in postseason play. He's had three in postseason, including the one yesterday. Struggle against Arizona Western until the championship game to pitch outside. Ball two to one Count Sudbury ahead of the pitcher. Beautiful day. Gorgeous day for baseball at the Sam Supplisio park in Grand Junction, Colorado. Two, one pitch. Sudbury takes it in the dirt. Three, one. So go forth. Either you walk him or give him a good pitch that he can maybe drive. 3, 1 count buggy Sudbury for Gordon Jolly. Does he start his runners? Probably not. Even though there are two men out at three and one. The pitch hit hard and foul. Drilled foul into the stand. So Sudbury got out in front of it. Three, two, pitch. Now you definitely start the runners with two men out. Top of the sixth inning. And if Sudbury can drive it someplace where nobody catches it. Now you're talking. Something happening for Dixie. 13 to 4. St. Louis Merrimack just racking Dick P. 50 in the last two innings. 10 runs in the last two innings. There goes the runners. The ball hit foul. Gordon Jolly leans out of the way and lets it go behind his hip pocket. Down into the bullpen of St. Louis Meramec. No warm up action there. Go forth, I imagine is in for the duration unless he really gets racked around. St. Louis Merrimack getting complete game pitching out of Dave Barr and Dave Sabota in the first two games as they split. Mike Hanneman getting the start this time. Did not have his good stuff today as Dixby hit him all over the park. But Jim Goforth would be the number four starter. Apparently in relief. Does have the stuff. Start the runners once again. Two men on Scott Sudbury. Three, two pitch hit hard. Almost clips Gordon Jolly that time. He had to lean out of the way with a vengeance. John Travolta couldn't have done better. 3, 2, pitch again and Sudbury right on the pitcher outfield. Pulled a little bit more to left right. Now the right fielder. There's a big gap in right center. Left fielder pulls a little bit more towards the left side. That kind of flashing in the sun. Three, two, pitch again to Sudbury. There go the runners. He holds up. It's ball four and the bases are. No, they call him out. They say he went and Buggy Sudbury can't believe it. Kick the helmet he held up. And the home plate umpire giving Sudbury a warning right now. They say he went in a called strike and so striking out the side. And the Dixie fans not too pleased with the base umpire on that one tough call. It looked like Sudbury had held up and the base umpire called him out on strikes. So Dixie strands two. Two base hits, no errors, no runs, two men left and at the end of five and a half, it's 13 to 4. St. Louis Merrimack out in front. St. Louis Merrimack back after their timeout. Bluff St. In St. George. Reliable Maytag, your hometown Maytag dealer. Buggy Sudbury getting a warning from the home plate umpire after the call. Third strike. Tough call because that was not a swinging strike on a St. Louis Merrimack player. Darren Sissel to lead things off. The pitch lifted in the air and foul. St. Louis Merrimack with a run scored would wrap up this ball game on the ten run rule. It's a nine run thirteen to four game right now as Dixie about to go meekly now breaking pitch, hit in the air towards left field. Back goes Skeeter Ellison now comes in and Ellison has the first out. Tim May coming to the plate. One man out and Aaron MacArthur trying to hold St. Louis Merrimack at bay. And then Dixie needs to get two runs in the top of the seventh to keep alive. Can they bring this back? MacArthur to the plate. The pitch lifted in the air and way foul. May got out in front of that one. Hit it hard and deep and way foul. Tried to time it, didn't 1 for 3, popped out to the shortstop, popped out to the second baseman, drilled a single and eventually scored. Breaking pitch outside. Ball one, one one count. Aaron McArthur. Dixie fans getting on the home plate umpire a little bit right now. MacArthur into the wind. Up one, one pitch, fastball. That one misses low ball two, two, one count. Two one count and Dixie Key key called strike on Sudbury. Ball drilled hard, left field foul. Tim May hits it hard again. It's a 22 count though. May has hit the ball hard twice. Foul. Very, very foul. And very, very hard to left field. Tim McCarthy, Aaron McArthur to the plate. Breaking pitch, hit hard over the shortstop, set into left center field. And there's a potential wrap up run as Tim May little juggle in the left field. And we may have an error on Dickie as May goes into second base. And see if they give a double all the way. I don't think you're going to charge an error. Yes, they are. There's going to be a base hit and an error on Ellison. So the first error of the ball game allows May to go to second base. Mike LeFevre, home run reached on a wild pitch after striking out his last time up and grounded out to the pitcher. So St. Louis Merrimack 180ft away from winning this thing right now. Pitch inside, ball one. Chad Thorpe waiting on deck. And Dixie looking like a down team right now as they have not played well today. Not hit the ball. Ball hit hard to left field. Skeeter Ellison will come up with the ground ball. A base hit is there. May goes to third base, will not score. And Chad Thorpe coming to the plate. Thorpe grounded out to second, tripled in a run, doubled and scored. So the 10 run rule I think is in effect even on this one. And 90ft away, Aaron McArthur has two outs to get to keep Dixie alive in this game. Otherwise St. Louis Merrimack wraps this one up with a 10 run victory.
