About to have some substitutes come in on the sidelines. Ball knocked away by Peterson. Out of bounds for Salt Lake. Peterson. A couple of the most hustling defensive teams in the league. Dixie and Salt Lake, they just keep coming right after you. Any team that plays Dixie or Salt Lake this year is going to have somebody in their face defensively all the time. Bambrough into the lineup for the first time. Renaud Gordon into the lineup for the first time for Dixie. And Travis Warner in to Hunt. Out in front. It comes to Familar. Reach in foul. We'll get a Ken Johnson. That's number one to Johnson. 15 foul on salt Lake. Ready to have some substitutions in? Yes. Coming in, number 40. That's de Herfel into the guard line, replacing Familar. And Corden Robbins into the lineup for the first time. You're saying what happened to Zach Allison? Allison is dressed but did not show up for the ball game until five minutes before. The bounce comes to Peterson. To Bambrough. Baseline jump shot. Bambrough no good. Rebound tap by Gordon. Back to Bambrough. Back to the basket. No good. There's a foul. Critchley. Critchley with a reach in as his first personal foul. That is the 16 foul on salt Lake. And so Dixie will be shooting free throws early. Two shots coming up for Blaine Bambrough. Bambrough on the air, not a bad free throw shooter. Had a real string midway through the season and became Dixie's number one free throw shooter. But still slowly but surely, Christy Lewis got that on her back. Ambrose had a little bit of a slow period. Free throw up short. Dixie now one for three from the free throw line. A little bit of the free throw itis as they had in the first half against CSI, 74% on the year. BamBrough trying to make it a three point lead. Does that time. It rattles home one point for BamBrough. Make it 23, 20. Dixie to put a little bit of pressure on Fox. Gets away from Warner at the left angle. Throws it away intended for Hud. Warner wants to penetrate, dishes to pass. Extended for Bambrough. But Peterson behind, gets it and banks it in. Bambrough cuts just as the pass came to him. And there was no Bambrough, but there was Peterson who eventually got the bank shot. 25, 20. Dixie by five again, right angle. It goes to Hunt, dishes off out in front. Chris Fox gets away from Peterson to the basket with a layup. Chris Fox, who bothered Dixie in the second half, as you saw Mike, brings it Back to with M3. 25, 22, 9, 43 left in the first half. Robbins down low. It goes to Gordon. One bounds dribble. Lays it up. No good. Rebound. Bambrough over the basket. Rebound brought down. Foul on Gordon. Dixie once again, shooting percentage has just gone out the window like it did last night on short shot. Dixie had many chances last night to come back against CSI and missed some short layups that time. They missed two relatively short shots and saw Lake with a chance to extend the lead. Jason Schlenski into the lineup for the first time for Dixie. And to sit down Renaud Gordon, who has not really provided that much offense for Dixie of late. Some defense. Yes. Familar back into the lineup to replace Chris Fox. Familar, good shooter at the angle. It goes to Ryan Hunt. Ditto to Rob Stark. Out in front to Johnson, right side. He goes to Familar. Picked up by Warner. To Johnson. Quickly to Hunt. Jump shot up. No good. Rebound foul on Stark. Up over the back. And that's three on Rob Stark. Rob Stark with his third ready to go. High school teammate of Travis Warner. 26, 25 Salt Lake with a one point lead. Schlenski to shoot one and one. Salt Lake just keeps coming right after you at the free throw line. Schlenski first free throw. Good. Jason Schlenski, who has had some solid ball games of late, did so against Ricks. A good defensive game against Utah Valley. Shot the ball well against Snow. I should say he shot the ball well against Utah Valley and had a good defensive game against Snow. Hits the second free throw. Dixie out in front by one again. 27:26. Dixie is led by as much as five. Salt Lake by as much as four. Familar almost with a double dribble ball dribbled away, taken by Richard Bonnie. Bonnie comes up on the dribble. Down the sidelines. Bumped by Hunt. Picked up by Hunt. Shoots it over the basket. Rebound. Schlansky comes out. One bounce dribble. Leaves it for his teammate, Travis Warner. Warner down the sideline. Salt Lake back defensively. Warner right down the middle of the lane. Dishes off to Bambrough. Bambrough layback shot good. Bambrough with a strong fingertip roll from back up and under. Puts it up and in. 29, 26. Digby by three points. 659 left in the first half. Relatively high scoring game. Probably both teams playing loose at the baseline. It goes to Hunt, to Johnson. Johnson almost loses it. Wants to make the move. Follow a right hander over. Bambrough goes and ken Johnson has eight first half points. 29, 28. Back to a one point lead at the angle. It goes to Robins. Bounce pass to Bambrough. Layup shot will hang and fall. Crawls across the rim and finally drops through. 31:30. Dixie has the lead once again. 6:11 left in the half. Not much in the way of timeouts on either side for a while. They want to get the season over with now. Familar drives, lays it up and in. But there's a foul out in front. And who gets it? It may be Bonnie. Nope, it's Travis Warner. Warner and Bonnie Warner has his first personal foul. That's only the second team. Correction, a third team foul on Dixie. Third team foul on Dixie. It's a common foul. Out of bounds to Salt Lake at their own baseline. Bambrough to sit down and let's check. It looks like inbounds. Comes to Familar. Familar cross court. It goes to Hunt. Has a notion from three he can shoot that to Familar, who can also shoot that. Hunt from way beyond the NBA points. Three point line. Rebound to Hurfl. His shot blocked out of bounds by Turner. Unbelievable that little D. Herfel got in among the rest of the big kids to get the rebound. But he did. But Hunt was way out beyond. A good step beyond the NBA three point area when he let fly. But he shoots with confidence. Skyline High School grad will be going on an LDS Church mission after this season. Pass into the middle goes to Johnson. Turnaround jump shot good. And Salt Lake has the lead again. Johnson with 10 points. Travis Warner into forecourt. 32 to 31. Salt Lake. Warner looks for help. Salt Lake toughening the defense to Robins. Out in front. It comes to Warner. Warner to work on Familar. Into the corner. It goes to Robins. Back out in front to Warner to Reed. Takes the bank shot. No good. Can't get the pass away now. Goes to the high post to Johnson, left side. It goes to Herfel. Jump shot up and cut. And Herfel's normally the man you'd say, go ahead, let him shoot. He drills it. 34, 31, salt mike. And Dixie needs to get the good shot underneath at the angle. Travis Warner looks for help. Warner way out in front of. Comes to Lester Turner out near the 10 second line. Turner wants to make the move on Herple. Moves with the left hand dribble. Switches to the right hand ball and Stand it for Robins. Stolen by Familar. Familar to the basket. Lays it up and they call a foul on Robins. And it's the same official that was giving Dixie a bad time yesterday. Robbins looks like he tried to avoid the contact. Gets his first personal. And that's the fourth team foul. A basket good by Familar and a chance for a three point play. Familar, who gets extremely hot at 21 in St. George, 15 in Salt Lake. But most of those in the first half. Robbins to sit down. Sean Peterson back in. 36, 31. Six point run by Salt Lake. Making a seven point run. And Salt Lake out in front. Similar position to what they've had against Ricks College and against Utah Valley in the first two ball games. And Dixby not shooting the ball particularly well right now and not passing it well. Pass goes to Lester Turner. To the left side. It goes to Jason Schlensky. Three point attempt. Good. Bad pass by Warner. You would think it would have been a good one. Driving is familar. Lays it up. It won't go. Offensive foul, familar. Dixie got there first. Personal foul on Familar. Question is, is it one on one or player control? They say offense, so it's just a turnover to Dixie. Miller back in. Lewis back in to sit down. Also off the bench, Brian Jensen has not scored. David Critchley hasn't scored, Rob Stark hasn't scored, but he's a man in foul trouble with three personals. Zach Allison has not played. He's normally a starter and he's been an outstanding starter, but he didn't show up until five minutes before the game was to begin and then had to dress. Allison was left on his own to do a little bit of shopping or whatever and then missed the team bus coming over so he didn't get the start. Off the among the starters, Rob Stark has not scored. D. Rebound Brought down by Lester Turner. Dixie doing a good job on the boards. To the wing. Desean Peterson slips and goes down, loses the ball, out of bounds. That happened last night against Salt Lake. On the right side of that lane. The east side. The east basket. East basket. West basket. East basket is this side. West basket over there. This time it was on the left side. So Dixie with a turnover, could not afford many of those. Chris Fox, who had the last nine points, dishes off to Jarvis. Jump shot. No good. Rebound. Dishes off Jarvis. Bank shot. Good. That gives Salt Lake the two point lead once again. And that's exactly what Salt Lake wanted to do. Be a little more patient on the offense. 48, 46, 2 point lead. Foul is on Familar. And that is number two on Familar. First team foul this second half on Salt Lake. And they say no basket. It was on the drive. Peterson had the shot. Roll around. And they say on the drive. Night on the shot. So Dixie still trails by two inbounds. Comes to Peterson. Shot up, blocked from behind. And Allison gets the foul. Tough call. Tough call. It looked like Allison has gotten a clean block as he can. Sky is 64 and that may be giving him a couple of inches. Getting his first action here in the second half after being late for the team bus. Missing the team bus altogether. Peterson to shoot a couple. Free throw up and good. Peterson now 2 for 3 from the free throw line. A total of 12 points. 48, 47. Peterson with a chance to tie it. Second shot up, no good. Rebound brought down by Lorenzo Jarvis in backcourt. Chris Fox. Salt lake leaf by 1. 48, 47. They've led by as much as 4. Dixie's led by as much as 5. It's been a close one. Bounce pass, bank shot. No good. Rebound battle for taken by Johnson. Johnson against Miller will put it up. And he's hammered. No question about it. Who got him, Turner or Miller? Double team. They may give a half a foul each. Nope, it's going to be Turner. Turner with a reach in. That's number two on Lester Turner. First team foul the second half. A little bit of a trap on Dixby as he comes across the 10 second line. That's Quincy Lewis. The Lester Turner reach in foul will go to Ryan Hutt. Salt Lake surprising Dixie a little bit with that trap. I don't think Dixie anticipated that. That's the third team foul on Salt Lake here in the second half. Inbound. Shawn Peterson inbounds to Quincy Lewis. Now aware of it, the pressure will fall back. Salt Lake will change up the defenses a little bit on big feet. Quincy Lewis out in front of. Back is open at Utah Valley Community College where Salt Lake ends with an 18 win season and Salt Lake ends on a winning note. Dixie on the other hand bitter disappointment as they lose two in a row at the Region 18 tournament. After defeating North Idaho, Dixie finishes with 19 and 14 record on the year and looking back that's the first time since the 8283 season the dictate has not had 20 victories and the last time Dixie lost as many as 14 games. You go back to the 6869 season when Dixie was 2 and 20 and what was a disaster season back then. But that's the last time Dixie lost as many as 14 games was the 1968-69 season. Of course part of the reason the many losses is Dixie's playing more games now than they did back then and you play more, you have a better chance of winning 20. You also have a chance of losing a few more medictie finishes and what no matter what we say is going to be the worst record that Ken Wagner has had since he's Benedict College. The advantage is there are a lot of freshmen on this team and there are quite a few that should be back for next year. I think some will be going on mission and a good recruiting here in Dick could be poised for an outstanding year next year for Dick Digs. Let's take a look at the the scoring totals. First of all for Salt Lake Community College off the bench. John Gardner played briefly late in the ball game and just a few final seconds did not score. D. Herfel had an outstanding night. Four field goals one for two from the free throw line, a total of nine points. David Critchley didn't play that much, did not score. Brian Jetson played briefly in the first place half and the only ball player who is a leftover from the previous regime as Salt Lake Community College basketball. Jensen was a red shirt last year with the team. He was the only leftover did not score off the bench. Zach Allison, normally a starter, helped feel the fate Predict he hit two field goals but hit 9 for 11 from the free throw line and a total of 13 points on the night. Lindsay Bamalar with nine field goals, one of them a three pointer 4 for 5 from the free throw line, five field goals, won a three pointer 4 for 5 in the free throw line and finished with a total of 15 points. Among the starters. Chris Fox fouled out with a minute 40 left in the game and what could have been a turning point as Dixie was making trying to make a run back. Lester Turner hit the three point shot and was fouled by Fox. Becky gave Turner the opportunity for the four point play which he got and also put Fox out of the ball game. Fox finished with 10 field goals, 2 for 5 from the free throw line and a total of 22 points. Fox on the night went 10 for 14 from the field. Ryan Hunt just two three pointers and a total of six points but did some good things defensively. Lorenzo Jarvis had a hot second half, finished with six field goals, total four in the second half and a total of 12 points points. Rob Stark, playing his last game for Salt Lake Community College hit one field goal a total of two points. Ken Johnson, young man who came over from Southwestern Oregon Community College with Jeff Mende made the move over, finished with eight field goals, one of which was a three pointer.
