Okay, here I am, it's nighttime, and I'm driving in my mom's car back to Blockbuster Video to drop off a video. And I decided that there is no better time to make a tape than now. So I'm doing it. I decided that I'm going to share a couple of things that I learned on my mission. And they are some of my favorite scriptures. And one of them is not actually a scripture, but it's a quote by Joseph Smith Jr. It's called the Standard of Truth. A standard of truth has been erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing. Persecutions may rage, mobs may combine. Armies may assemble and calmly may defame. But the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly and independent until it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear until the purposes of God shall be accomplished. And the great Jehovah shall say, the work is done. Joseph Smith Jr. And that one we said every single week in district meeting. And also there's Doctrine and Covenants, Section 4. This one says, now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men. Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God in the last day. For behold, the field is white and all ready to harvest. And lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might the same layeth up in store, that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to a soul in faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work. Remember, faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, diligence. Ask and ye shall receive. Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen. Those are some of my favorite scriptures, and I hope that the world will soon know of them. And now I'm going to talk about something a little bit lighter, but I'm going to have to wait until I can read when I'm not driving. So just a sec. Ok, here I am again. And now I'm in the parking lot of Blockbuster, and I'm going to read an article out of one of my favorite magazines. And it's about motorcycles. Another one of my favorite things. It's a hobby of mine. Okay, this one is about the YZF R1 made by Yamaha. It says every few decades an idea comes along that changes everything. Back in 1905, a guy named Einstein found a way to turn Mass into energy and back again within the speed of light. He called it E mc squared. In 1999, we turned the motorcycling establishment on its collective ear with the lightest, strongest, best handling split bike on earth. Its father was a twisty road and its mother was a supercomputer. We call it YZF R1. The R1's 20 valve 998cc four cylinder engine is the most powerful, most compact power plant we've ever built. A radically new deltabox frame designed with an Allied with a short 54.9 inch wheelbase creates the sort of handling precision that Albert Einstein would have approved. The bottom line is, it's simple. Our take on rocket science propels 390 pounds of motorcycle with 150 horsepower. Do the math. And with the numbers like that, there's a name for anything less than the 1999 YZF R1 history. The results are amazing. 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds and 0 to 80 in just 6 seconds. And now before I leave, I gotta say to everybody out there in Radio World, keep both wheels on the ground at all times and always wear your helmet. Good night. Hey, I didn't know if you were going to listen to this this far, but I just wanted to let you know that I had a great time in your class this year or this semester and I think you're a really great teacher and I wish you luck in the future and we'll probably see each other around. So. So I'll talk to you later. Okay, Bye. Okay. The AAS degree is available for students who want a two year program but are not planning to transfer to a four year degree program. Since this degree is structured to prepare the student for job placement rather than continued education requirements are designed to emphasize the program being studied. General education requirements are de emphasized in this degree allowing the student to enroll in more courses specific to the student's major. The following courses are required as minimum core requirements for an AAS degree. Additional degree requirements are structured by individual program areas and are validated by the industry advisory committee for that program. Students are encouraged to contact program advisors for specific details. You do not have to choose a major in order to graduate from Dixie College. However, some majors are required. A specific program early setting objectives early in your college career may save time, money and difficulties later. For help in choosing a major.
