Third baseman and Steve Rosemeyer the right fielder. Dave Horlocher, the first baseman is the cleanup hitter. Then comes second baseman, Mike Tarwater. Braden Harbaugh the catcher, Ryan Atkinson the left fielder. Number eight hitter is the center fielder, Darren Hill and the number nine hitter is the pitcher, Casey Hilburn. Hilburn is the pitcher tonight for Dixie. One man out. Oliverson working on a second hitter and Brian Wilson is that hitter. The first pitch chopped over the head of the pitcher, grabbed by the shortstop, snagged and thrown to first base. Good play by James Platt onto first base to Nate James. Familiar sounding names from Cedar City. Many of these young men will be involved with their respective high schools in the next year or two. Steve Rosemeyer, right fielder, right handed hitter wearing number 33 is the number three hitter for Dixie. So two up and two down in the top of the first inning. Jeff Oliverson for Cedars that he comes to the plate. The pitch almost hits him. Ball one. This is the 14 and 15 year old group and what is called the senior little league. The pitch by Oliverson is fouled off. Strike one. One, One count to Steve Rosemeyer. Because of various and sundry reasons, mostly a lack of power of electricity, we are doing this one out of the car parked right behind home plate up next to the screen. So my broadcast booth is the front seat of the car this time two men away. One, one count to Steve Rosemeyer and the umpire looking for baseball. Home plate umpire has gotten some new baseballs and away we go. Rosemeyer, the right fielder earlier today, for those who may have missed it in the major league action, Tatersville was leading Dixie in the bottom of the fifth inning. When a protest was lodged about the eligibility of Tatersville's pitcher. It was ruled that the pitcher, relief pitcher for Tatersville, was ineligible. So Tatersville forfeited and there will be a game Monday. Pitch called strike one. Two count. Oliverson, like many of the young young pitchers are doing, is going to the no wind up, wind up. This kind of starts things and then suddenly the pitch explodes. The pitch chopped out in front of the plate. Oliverson quickly off the mound, steadies himself and throws him out of first base. So an easy 1, 2, 3 inning, 3 up, 3 down for Dixie in the top half of the first inning. No runs, no hits, no errors, nobody left on base. We'll come up with a bottom of the first inning and we will give you the Cedar City lineup after this timeout during which mysterious things happen to your car and it overheats you're on vacation and the kids need to get a hold of you. Maybe you need to call back to the office and have that important document you forgot faxed by five and you're on your way to some sunny beach. Cellular One. Back at the Cedar Field where the top half of the first inning saw an easy 1 2, 3 inning for Cedar pitcher Jeff Oliverson as Dixie went 3 up 3 down. This is the Cedar City lineup for today as we go to the bottom of the first. Leading off is the catcher Skyler Miller, then second baseman Ryan Hunter. Batting third is the shortstop James Platt. The cleanup hitter is pitcher Jeff Oliverson. Batting number five is the first baseman Nate James. Mike Gower is the third baseman. Batting seventh, left fielder Jay Talbot. Batting eighth is the right fielder Kayson Smith and Jesse Griffin, the center fielder is batting number nine. Southpaw pitcher on the mound for Dixie. That's Casey Hilburn Ilburn getting the start today. Dixie concerned about eligibility of pitchers for Monday after the situation with Tatersville and Dixie in the Major league contest earlier today and saw the forfeiture of Tatersville to Dixie. And yes, that game will be on the air Monday. Dixie and Tatersville for the Major league. That's the 11 and 12 year old championship. That'll be Monday at 5:30 on KSGI and KZEZ. And by the way tonight we'll join in progress Dick Carter at the Senior League Championships in Washington where Washington is taking on Snow Canyon the junior, I should say the Junior little league, the 13 year olds. So we'll join that one in progress and give you updates on that after it gets going underway. We'll keep you updated on the score and and Dick Carter will have the last few innings of the play by play of that tonight. So plenty of Little League championship action next week. We already know Snow Canyon is headed to Mesa, Arizona for the Big league action. And we'll be bringing you those games. We'll be making the arrangements this week to bring you those games beginning a week from today. We know there's going to be a Washington county team in Denver, Colorado, representing the Junior Little League State Championship. It'll either be Washington or Snow Canyon, and we will be following them also in postseason play. Hilburn. First pitch to Skyler Miller. That one is down low. Ball one. Miller right handed. Hitting catcher Peter got through Dixie's lineup. 1, 2, 3. In the top half of the first inning. Oliverson, Sketter Miller, the catcher to lead things off, puts his hands a little bit on the bat. Haven't seen that in a while. Pitch misses down low. Ball too. Ty Cobb used to have quite a split between his hands. You don't put those fists right together. Pete Ward, many people remember. Well, maybe not many, but a few old baseball fans remember. Pete Ward used to do the same thing. Fitz called strike. Ward as a third baseman, came up with the Orioles briefly, but spent most of his career with the Chicago White Sox in the 60s. Ward somewhat of a power, hitting left handed, hitting third baseman. The pitch. Two one pitch line to right center field. That one may drop. The center fielder coming. Does he get it? Yes, he does. Diving catch by the center fielder. Beautiful play by Darren Hill. He just outran that one and took a hit away from Skyler Miller. So a diving catch by Darren Hill and one man out. Ryan Hunter, the second baseman. Hill reached down around his shoe tops, rolled over and came up holding the ball in his glove just to prove to the umpire. Ryan Hunter, right handed, hitting second baseman. One man out in the pitch. To the plate. Inside ball one One old count to Ryan Hunter. One ball count to Ryan Hunter. James Platt waiting on deck. Platt the shortstop. The pitch hit towards the second baseman, grabbed by the second baseman for Dixie, Mike Tarwater and thrown out of first base. Is under. So pitchers duel is underway right now. Two up and two down. James Platt, the shortstop, coming to the plate. Class right handed hitting shortstop and pitcher Casey Hilburn as an easy first. Two batters. Well, not that easy on the first batter, helped along by his inner fielder. So good defensive play, Hilbert. Slow wind up, comes to the plate. Breaking pitch. Misses outside or no, hits the corner. Strike one. Umpire. Home plate umpire gives you a little bit of a slow call on it. He hollers and then gives the hand signal a little bit late. One strike. Pitch coming up. The pitch outside. One one count Duplatt. Oliverson waiting on deck. Bottom of the first inning, no score. Senior Little League championship, State championship. If Cedar wins tonight, it's all over. If Dixie wins, they come back Monday at 7 o' clock to play again. Pitch swung on and missed. Strike two. One, two count. Dixie worked its way back through the consolation bracket. Cedar the only undefeated team in this tournament. So the old Cedar Dixie rivalry has raised its head. One, two count to James Platt. Two men out and Hilbert the pitcher to the plate. The pitch outside, trying to tease the hitter and he didn't go for it. Platt holding on to that bat, just would not swing it at the ball that time. 22 count to James Platt. Jeff Oliverson waiting on deck. Two men out, bottom of the first inning. The pitch chased and foul tipped right straight back. Platt spoiled a pretty good pitch. Hilburn good easy motion to have that one cutting inside and it was headed inside. A tough pitch to handle and Platt just fouled it off. Those tried to spoil at that time, hoping they could get a better one to go after the next time. Two, two count to James Platt. Warm day in Cedar City. Just a beautiful day for baseball in Cedar City. A little breezy on occasion. Just a slight stirring right now. The breaking pitch. Hit on the ground towards the shortstop. Gobbled up, dropped, picked up, thrown. Not in time. Error on shortstop Josh Franer and the man is on. So Platt hits it towards the shortstop. Franer had it run up his arm, picked it up and tried to hustle a throw. But Platt hustling down the line, beats it out. So the error puts flat on. And coming to the plate now is Jeff Oliverson. Oliverson, right handed pitcher for Cedar City. Oliverson has a chance to help his own cause. Shades of star ball, players, pitches, hits fourth. That's about everything. Oliverson at the plate. Pitch up and away. Ball one. So a man is on. No fault to Casey Hilburn, who's pitching very well right now. Two men away, bottom of the first inning, no score. Dixie and Cedar, they're on KZ. Easy 99.7 FM pitch in the dirt. Two zero and we will be going on 1450 K FGI just as soon as that second game of the Rockies is over between the Rockies and the Chicago Cubs. Later tonight is the Junior Little League State Championship action. Snow Canyon in Washington. They swung on and missed to strike one. Oliverson went after the fastball, up in the strike zone and it's a 2:1 count to Jeff Oliverson. Two men out. A man on. Peters hitting. Trying to get something started here in the bottom of the first inning. Into the Stretch Hillburn comes back to the plate. Pitch down low. Ball 331 count. Though Oliverson, at this age, that 31 count becomes a little more meaningful because by the time you're 14, 15 years of age, you're starting to learn to look for your pitch. The pitch outside. Ball four. So two men on. The error, then the base on balls. Two men on and Nate James coming to the plate. Nate James, whose mother has been involved with little league officer ship up here in Cedar City for several years. So is his dad attacking with his mother, Diane. She is no longer in the administration up here and she says it's been rather delightful just to sit back and be a fan for a change. Nate James, right handed hitting first baseman. Two men out now, two men on. And James trying to keep something alive for Cedar City. Bottom of the first inning. Casey Hilburn been a good pitcher for Dixie throughout this year. The pitch, slow delivery and misses. Ball one doesn't miss by much across the middle part of the plate, but just below the knees. 10 count to Nate James, shorter ball player. And that's a strike. Nate James, his older brothers have made names for themselves in baseball called strike on that inside corner. One one count. Mike Gower waiting on deck. Cedar City began this tournament by picking up a four foot win against West Zion. When Wes Zion did not field a big league team or a senior league team took some of their big leaguers and put them on the senior league team. The pitch hit in towards the second baseman, out of his reach into right field. One run will score and going to third is Oliverson. So Platt scores on the RBI single off the glove of the second baseman. Diving for it was Mike Tarwater and just couldn't get it. So an RBI single by James and it's a one nothing lead for Cedar City. On third is Oliverson. James on at first and Mike Gower coming to the plate. Gower, strong young man. That's number six in the order. And it's interesting to watch the 14, 15, 16 year olds. That's a time when young men begin to develop that they develop at different ages in that 14, 15, actually 13 through about 17 age group. You'll see different sizes significantly from year to year. The pitch by Hilburn up high off the catcher's glove. Coming into the plate is Oliverson and he's going to score. That's going to be a pass ball, that's going to be a fastball. And Oliverson scores. Nate James moves to second and it's ball one to Mike Gower. So the catcher just can't hang on to that one. Miller gets the fast ball and it's a two nothing lead for Cedar City. Two nothing lead Mike Gower. One zero count. Man on at second base is Nate James, who got the RBI single. Hilburn into the stretch. The pitch misses. Up and away ball. What the ball two. So the defense has given Hilburn a life on the first hitter, but put a man on base on hitter number three. And since then, Cedars put two runs on the board. Pitch gets away from the catcher again. And moving on to third base is Nate James. So another fast ball. Fast ball by the catcher. That is the second one for catcher Braden Harbaugh. So Harbaugh has had to go off his glove. And I'm not sure if it's just a case of getting crossed up by the by the pitch, calling one and getting something else, or just having a little wiggle at the end of that he can't pick up on. Man on the third. Two zero count to Mike Gower. The pitch called strikes. Two. One count coming up for Mike Gower. Two balls, no strike count. Into the stretch. Hilburn. Hilburn comes back to the plate, tries to hold up, fouls it off, counts the ball, goes off to the right side. Two two count. Two men away. Two runs in both of them. Unearth. Two unearned runs by Cedar City here in the bottom of the first inning. And Cedar has jumped out to a two nothing lead over Dixie. But it's a long ways to go on this one, scheduled for seven innings. Tilburn deliberate in his stretch, in his motion, comes to the plate. Pitch outside, ball four. So Gower is on at first base and Jay Talbot, the seventh man to come to the bay, to the plate this inning is coming up right handed, hitting left fielder Jay Talbott. Two to nothing speeder and still threatening men at the corners. James over at third on the first base is Mike Gower. Later this evening we have junior Little League action. The breaking pitch lifted into the air towards the second baseman. Back goes to second baseman. That's going to be difficult. It's going to drop and it's going to be a blue single. Headed to third is Gower. Yeah, we're running on the hit and just not being able to get there is Mike Tarwater. He's made a good play. Just out of the reach of Tarwater. On a dive was one single, this one. Just out of his reach is a blue single. And Jay Talbott has an rbi, making a three to nothing lead. James is in, Gower over at third and Talbott on at first base. And Casein Smith coming to the plate. Three runs in, not a one of them is earned. Hilburn comes to the plate. Pitch up and away. Ball one. Kind of a dubious beginning for Hilburn and he has not been hit around hard. A ground ball single just out of the reach of a diving tar water. A bloop single just between the second baseman and the right fielder. A walk all sandwiched in the middle of that called strike at the knees. One one count to Case and Smith. In fact, two base on balls. First two batters went down first one with a little difficulty. It was a great diving catch by the center fielder that got that 1, 2, 2 pitch coming up. The pitch lined. One bounce backhanded by the shortstop. No off his gloves, diving, couldn't come up with it. And again another base hit just off the out of the reach of the shortstop. Galvan on at second base. Another run is home and it's a four nothing lead. The RBI by Casen Smith. A very strange turn of events for Dixie and for Cedar. A welcome turn of events as they looked like they were going to have problems with Hilburn. And they have had, in a way they haven't really rattled a bat. It's a bloop single. Two singles just out of the reach of the infielders. An error. Two walks and there are four runs in. Men at first and second. And the ninth man to come to the plate is Jesse Griffin. Griffin to go down and talk to the third base coach. Get some words of wisdom here in the bottom of the first inning. This is the senior league State championship. Game one, definitely game two will only be if Dixie pulls off a win tonight. Then the game two and definitely winner takes all will be Monday. Whoever is the one team that has less than two losses. Is the team that wins the state championship around taking the bunt? Is it a call? Strike. It is stealing on the play. And does he get into third base? Yes. Double steal as Talbot goes and Smith goes. So a double steal and it's a strike called on. Griffin did not lay the bunt down. Instead men at second and third. First base is open and it's strike one to Griffin. Hilburn will go out of the full wind up now the southpaw not hit hard, but hit timely by Cedar. The pitch inside. Ball one. Ball one. Yes, one. One count last night we saw the double header situation where Snow Canyon beat Dixie twice in order to get the big league championship. This morning we saw that forfeit is going to force a final game in major league right here. Cedar has got the advantage and they're the undefeated team. Pitch gets away from the catcher. It's in the dirt. That's a wild pitch. A lot of distance between home plate and the screen. And the wild pitch brings home another run. But two pass balls and a wild pitch in the middle of this and it's a 21 count to Griffin and it's a 5 nothing lead. 5 nothing lead for Cedar and the coaching staff for Dixie wants to talk to pitcher Casey Hilbrun trying to settle him down. Hilbrun, that one broke down into the dirt and away from the catcher Brayden Harbaugh as he had no shot, no shot at getting a hold of that one. Best he could do is try to block it. He did and in effect just deflected it. A lot of distance. Unlike what we saw at Snow Canyon High School last night where there isn't much difference between distance between home plate and the screen, there is a significant amount of territory between the catcher and that screen. Two, two count to Jesse Griffin or two one count? I should say two, one count to Jesse Griffin. One man on on a third base. Five runs are in here in the inning and not one of them earned the pitch called strike two. Two count. Waiting on deck the top of the order, Skyler Miller. Two, two count to Jesse Griffin into the windup once again. Here comes Hilburn. The pitch just misses inside. Jumping out of the way was Griffin. It wasn't that close. It was closer to being a strike than it was the hitting Griffin on at third base. Casen Smith. The pitch by Hilburn. Three two pitch calls strike three. And that ends the inning for Cedar City. They pick up five big ones. Five runs on a total of three. Three base hits. And one huge error. One man left on base. And at the end of one complete inning of play, it's Cedar 5 and Dixie nothing. Back after this timeout before the hot sun gets you in a sweat, bring your vehicle into jeans, okay? Tire. Get your air conditioning unit completely serviced. Five to nothing Cedar City with the lead in the first inning after one complete inning in the Senior League Championship game. It was a 123 inning for Dixie that first time up. Peter looked like they were going to go peacefully. One, two and the third was going to be okay. But an error by the shortstop opened the floodgate and after that error on the third hitter in the inning, five runs came across the plate and all nine batters had a chance to appear at the plate against Casey Hilbrun. First pitch by Oliverson to Dave Horlocher leading off the first baseman. Pitch up and in ball one, Horlocker, Tarwater, Harbaugh due up for Dixie. Now the challenge for Oliverson is to throw strikes. Get out pitch. Ground ball hit towards the second baseman grabbed by Hunter and throwing throwing him out of first base to James or Locker. Down one man out and Mike Tarwater at the plate. Last night in the major league action the 11 and 12 year old Skyler Ansport Dixie threw a no hitter and had only one strikeout. Dixie beat Enterprise which shows you that the fielders were being used a lot. A fly ball three ground ball so far by Dixie. Pitch called strike at the knees to Mike Tarwater. Tarwater the second baseman dived and just about got a ground ball. That could have been the third out but it just went off his glove into right field for a single pitch outside ball one and then a little loop single, a little pop fly single to right field just out of his reach and short of the right fielder. So three hits in that inning by Cedar City. None of them what you would call a real eye opener, but they all count and Cedar created five runs. Couple of fastballs and a wild pitch helped create those. The pitch misses down low Two balls, one strike. Braden Harbaugh waiting on deck, one man out. Top of the second inning. It's Dixie trailing five to nothing and Oliverson trying to wrap this one up. Oliverson, easy motion, comes to the plate. Pitch goes right to the backstop, through the catcher. It's a 31 count, Skyler Miller behind the plate this time around. And yes, there is another Rossman Coram Rossman on this team, but he isn't catching. He was an alternate for this All Star team and with a couple of injuries, Chad Shipp was one was on the sidelines and Mike Littlefield, who was scheduled to be in this game, he's on the sidelines. A little line drive grabbed by Nate James. James just leaning and following that one. So a line out to the first baseman. Soft liner and Tarwater's gone. Brayden Harbaugh coming to the plate now, two up and two down. Top of the second inning. The Dixie hitting a right at fielder, right handed, hitting catcher Oliverson. That easy motion comes to the play. Pitch misses inside ball one doesn't miss by much. Oliverson has been around the plate. That's why Dixie's had to hit the ball. 10 count to Oliverson or from Oliverson to Harbaugh. Count tall strike at the knees, one one count. Lots of action still ahead. Tomorrow we'll have the Colorado Rockies and the Chicago Cubs. Then it's Sunday night baseball on ksgi. Pitch swung on and missed. Strike two and football season's right around the corner. NFL gets underway at the end of August and we're almost at the end of July. August 31st is the first NFL game of the year. The pitch lifted into the air to right center field and deep. Fading over as the center fielder to grab it as that just stayed up and Jesse Griffin got under it for the third out to retire the side. So a rather long fly ball to right center field and Harbaugh is out. 3 up, 3 downs, no runs, no hits, no errors, nobody left on base at the end of an inning and a half. It's Cedar 5, Dixie nothing. Back after this timeout. Steamroller droppies. We're the one to help you do your work. Is that the full service business center makes your day run so much better. Dixie vs. Cedar 5 Nothing Cedar in the senior league state championship game one of what could be two or could just remain one. But unlike the big league where they turned around and played the double header last night, part of that last night by the way and we want to congratulate the Snow Canyon coach for the big league, Josh Gunn coached his team to the state championship and got married this morning. Now he planned a marriage a long time in advance, had not planned on being in the big league state championship at that point. So part of the honeymoon will either be spent in Mesa Arizona or the honeymoon will be cut short so that he can be in Mesa Arizona this coming Saturday. Major League that one will will be decided on Monday after the forefoot by Tatersville. Heartbreak for Tatersville as they were leading eight to four with a ruling that their pitcher Matt Withers was ineligible and so the forfeit took place and Monday will be Dixie and Tatersville for the 11 and 12 year old championship. The Major League championship Senior league is here. Junior League is in Washington. That's Washington versus Snow Canyon and Dick Carter will be reporting from that game which is scheduled to get underway at 8 o' clock tonight and then we'll have play by play of that after this game is over. Top of the order. Skyler Miller, then Ryan Hunter, then James Platt. Do up. It's the same three that began the first inning and we're in the second inning. Cedar batted around on what should have been an easy 1, 2, 3 inning, but the error opened the doors in Cedar City just like the Camels. Once you opened the door, they took the tent. First pitch by Hilburn. Pitch lifted into the air towards the second baseman staring up there and grabbing into Starwater. So Tarwater has had some action tonight. The first pitch hitting and the pop up to the second baseman. One up and one down. Ryan Hunter coming to the plate. Casey Hilburn has been around the place. Did have one wild pitch to brought in a run, but mostly he's been around the place as a slow delivery. I shouldn't say slow, more deliberate than slow. Charging in is the third baseman taking the punt and the pitch popped down the first baseline. Ryan Hunter and going back to getting it, is the first baseman for Dixie as Dave Horlocher went back in an over the shoulder catch in fair territory. That one was headed foul. Then came back into fair territory. So two pitches and two outs, just the opposite of that first inning. James Platt is the man that began things for Cedar in the second inning. He reached on an error, came around to score the first run of this ball game, the first of five in that first inning. The pitch, breaking pitch in the dirt, gets away from the catcher. It's ball one. Two men out, nobody on bottom of the second inning, Cedar with a five nothing lead over Dixie. Scheduled seven inning ball game. So there's a lot of innings left for both teams either to get more to lose the lead or to do whatever. Pitch foul, straight back. And lots of weird things have happened. With less than two, with two outs in the bottom of the last inning, weird things have happened. It can happen at any time. Last night, Snow Canyon scored in about three innings. Dixie scored in every inning, but Snow Canyon won. Breaking pitch, hits him flat. Just didn't get out of the way of that one. Started to. I mean it looked like he froze. Looked like he froze. Took it right in the chest as that one, a little breaking pitch just kept coming after him. So a man is on. Two men out and Jeff Oliverson at the plate. Oliverson walked and came around to score his first time up. So Oliverson a chance to help himself again, the pitch fisted towards the shortstop. Going back and grabbing it is the shortstop for Dixby. That's Josh Brainer for the third out to retire the side. Cedar's still not hitting the ball hard. But in that inning, no runs, no hits, no errors. One man left. And even though Cedar's not hitting the ball hard, at the end of two complete, it's five nothing. Cedar over Dixie. Back with the top of the third inning after this timeout. Pioneer Shopper. It's just about everywhere. You'll find all the hottest deals, whether you buy, sell or trade. Clear across Utah, clear across America. Cellular One. Top of the third inning. Brian Atkinson leads off and takes a pitch up and in. Ball one. Top of the third. Dixie looking for their first baserunner against Jeff Oliver in the pitch called strike one. One count, five nothing. Lead all five runs coming for Cedar with two men out in the first inning, every last one of them unearned. One One pitch to to Atkinson. Up, way up. Ball two. Two. One count coming up. Darren Hill, the center fielder waiting on deck. The press box this time is the front seat of my 66 Chrysler. Pitch outside. Ball three. Three. One count. I dare anyone else to have that luxurious press box. Anyway, we're having fun. Not much breeze, mostly out in center field. Call. Strike two. The count goes full as Oliverson came right back with the pitch. Top of the third inning, five nothing. Cedar. And it's been rather a quiet Dixie crowd. Not much to cheer for yet. It's that time of year in which mysterious the loudest cheer came in that first inning. First batter for Cedars in the bottom of the first inning. Beautiful diving catch in center field. The pitch lifted into the air, tried to hold up and that one may drop. Center fielder coming in. Griffin. That one went farther than anyone expected as Atkinson got a little jump off of his bat with that one. So one up and one down, Darren Hill coming to the plate. Hill, the center fielder, made the beautiful play on the leadoff hitter, Skyler Miller for Cedar City diving, rolled over, came up with a the ball held onto it all the way. So Hill a chance to hit for the first time and he has to wait till the third inning. This is the eighth man up for Dixie in the Game. Cedar went through all nine batters in that first inning. We're in the third inning with one man out and this is the eighth man up for Dixie in the game. Jeff Oliverson trying to take advantage of that five nothing lead and just make it nice and easy. Oliverson comes to the plate, misses inside, almost hits him. That was a little closer to being hit than Darren Hill thought. Is that one sailed on the inside part of the plate. Jeff Oliverson on the mound, no wind up, wind up, comes back to the plate, skips it back to the backstop. 20 count. So Oliverson, who had a three ball count on only one hitter in the first two innings, went 32 with Atkinson and now is 20 with Darren Hill. Coaches get very nervous at this point with a five nothing lead. You want your pitcher to throw strikes. Two zero pitch. Fouled straight back down around the knees. Two one count. And had a little bit of a bend on it. 21 count to Darren Hill. Casey Hilburn the opposing pitcher waiting on deck. Top of the third. The five runs in the bottom of the first four seater is the only scoring in the game. And all of the them unearned. Three singles, couple of fast balls, a wild pitch, couple of walks and an error that opened the whole thing. Pitch swung on and missed. Strike two. Good sinking fastball. And by the time it got to the plate it was out of the strike zone. But Hill had committed two two count. Darren Hill, good defensive outfielder, strong right handed hitter. Jeff Oliverson trying to get him out at this point. Pitch in the dirt. Ball three. Second consecutive full count here in the top half of the third inning. Dixie versus Cedar. Cedar began with a four foot win, so they've actually only had to win two games to get to the championship game. Actually go on the field twice. Pitch fouled into the catcher's mid. No, swung on and missed and dropped by the catcher and tagged out by the catcher. That is the first strikeout in the ball game for Oliverson. Two up, two down, top of the third inning and Casey Hilburn coming to the plate. We got two little fans in the back of a pickup right next to me. They have a plate then and these two are just fun to watch. They are cute ones. They've got two of the best seats in the house, but they're standing most of the time. The pitch to Hilburn down low. Ball one. So if you hear anything that sound like the nursery coming from behind, it's some Dixie fans cheering. Two of the youngest. One ball cap to Hilburn. Called strike right on the inside part of the plate. 11 count to left handed hitting. Casey Hilburn throws left, bats hit left, trying to be philosophically consistent. Right down at the end of the bat. Swung on and missed. Strike two. So it's a 12 count and Oliverson back into his groove. A little 12 count to Hilburn. Top of the third inning, five nothing. Seeder into the wind. Up again comes Oliverson. Just misses off the outside part of the plate. Good discipline by Hilburn. That one tailed just a little bit. Oliverson took a shot at that outside corner and missed. Two two counts coming up to Hilburn. The pitch down low and it's a full count again. Three consecutive full counts in this top half of the third. First one flied out to the center fielder. Second one struck out. Now a three two pitch coming up to Hilbert. Oliverson comes back, the pitch misses down low in the first place. Baserunner for Dixie. So the perfect game is out the window as the opposing pitcher, Casey Hilbring comes to the plate or comes to first base, I should say. Top of the order. Josh Craner comes to the plate. Trainer the shortstop fight out to the left fielder. First time up, hit. The second pitch of the ball game, the left field, but Talbot standing under it. Hilburn kind of a polite, don't notice I'm here. Sort of lead at first base. Pitch tall strike on that outside corner. Josh Rayner, the shortstop. One strike, two out. The man on and Oliverson working on the mound. Dixie trying to get something off of Oliverson. And what they've gotten so far is the sum total of one walk. That's it, into the stretch once again, Oliverson to the plate. Called strike two. Right at the knees. Beautiful pitch. Frayner may have been surprised on that one. Didn't look like he could pull the trigger. O2 count to Josh Frayner. Senior league championship action live from Cedar City. Trainer at the plate wearing number one on his back. We saw that this morning. Good shortstop number mentioned that this morning too. In the major league action into the stretch. Oliver's into the plate. That gets away from the pitch to the catcher. It'll be a wild pitch. Ball one puts the runner on at second base. Catcher Skyler Miller tried to block that one, but that had a mind of its own. The pitch in the dirt just eluded everything but the backstop. So Ilburn is on at second base. It's a 12 count to Josh Rayner. We're in the top half of the third inning. Dixie and Cedar five nothing late for Cedar with a two out walk. Kilburn on at second base and Dixie threatening the pitch. One two pitch line to left field. Talbot, is he there? No, that's going to be over his head and against the fence. Hilburn's going to have a chance to score and he will. And pulling in with the first hit of the ball game, a resounding double is Josh Frayner. So Franer sent that one one bounce to the fence, that one carried and gets the run home. It's a five to one ball game. So the perfect game went out the window with a walk. The no hitter went off the out the window with a double and the shutout has gone out the window with the run scored. Brian Wilson at the plate and this one is earned. On his second base is Sprainer. Oliverson looks back at second to the plate. The pitch. Swung on and missed. Strike one. So Dixie breaks the seal on the spot. Scoreboard on the Dixie half of it and it's a five to one ball game. Ryan Wilson, number two hitter has a little pop to the bat. Right handed hitter. Oliverson into the stretch, steps off the mound, gets brainer back, closer to second base. A man on a man in. Two men away into the stretch. Oliverson comes to the plate fisted in the air. Short pop fly. The shortstop wants it all the way and grabs it for the third out to retire the side. So jammed on the pitch, Brian Wilson couldn't get much of the bat on it and taking care of it was James Platt. So in that inning, one run, one hit, no errors, a man left. And at the end of two and a half innings of play, they'll come back with the bottom of the third. It's a 5 to 1 lead for Cedar. Back after this timeout. There's no question when you need tires. James to lead things off, had the RBI single his first time up. That was the one that was to right field, just off the diving reach of second, second baseman Mike Tarwater. The pitch by Ilvern. Outside one, one gall, Mike Gower waiting on deck. So a single in RBI and a run scored by Nate James. He is one for one on the day and has more than zeros on that line. Right handed. Hitting first baseman Hilburn comes to the plate. The pitch. Outside. Ball 2, 2, 1 count. Hilburn scored the only run for Dixie. He got the walk and then Franer followed with the double.
