TV55 is here, St. George's own TV station to get a tape of this evening's game. And we will be airing that one plus last night's game a little bit later in the week on TV55. We are having the entire lineup on both sides being introduced. For Kankakee it really doesn't make a whole bunch of difference who is introduced because Everybody plays well. 10 out of the 14 plays, they go 10 deep and they consistently go 10 deep. Kankakee College, coached by Dennis Lanas Lainas is in his 11th season. Kankakee has a nine game winning streak. The mini Cavaliers doing a good job on the year and they're ready to get underway. A couple of the key players to watch. Allen Eaton has been hot, has two double figure games in this tournament. Same with Leroy Parnel. Double check and check that starting lineup. Parnell, a 62 freshman. Allen Eaton, a 63 freshman, will be jumping center. Also starting will be Jeff Thurman, a 6 foot 3 inch sophomore. And let's pick up the two guards. Andre Bryson, a 6 foot freshman and I believe Mike Murph is the other one. The tap controlled into the hands of Kankakee. Mike Murph, a six foot sophomore, comes up with it. Murph, a young man from Indiana. Dixie with a man to man defense. Dixie wearing the red uniforms at the Ang. It goes to Eaton in deep. It goes to Brighton. His shot up blocked by Bill. Rebound brought down and there is a foul. Let's see who it goes to. It may be on Dixie. It is on Robert Maxwell. Maxwell picks up his first personal foul. First team foul. Kankakee, the Cinderella team in this tournament and they say it was a shooting violation. So to the free throw line goes Andre Bricett. Kankakee not a good free throw. Shooting team that good. 62% has not shot that well from the field. Not bad, but not that well. 49%. Bryson hits the first free throw. Make it one to nothing. Kankakee and Dixie for the first time in two games has trailed. Shot by Bryson. Good. Make it two to nothing and Bryson is hit. The first two free throws. The zone press by Kankakee. Ricky Henry in backcourt, gets the pass into forecourt to Dan Bell. Bell looks for help, gets it to Robert Maxwell at the angle. It goes to Ricky Henry. Henry look for help. Double team on that one. Three one zone. Bounce pass. Kick out of bounds by Jeff Thurman. Kankakee will substitute a whole bunch out of bounds in forecourt. Dixie definitely number two in the nation. Trying to be the national champion. Parrish in the corner. Pass goes cross court through Stevenson to Dan Bell. Bell against that zone out in front. Dixie being patient. Robert Maxwell at the free throw line. Jump shot. Parish. Good Abraham Parrish. Parish from the free throw line ties it a two at 19, 18, 12 left in the first half of play. Full court pressure against Mike Murph. Murph the playmaker at the angle. It goes to Eaton. Eaton against Stevenson out in front. The pass comes to Thurman. Thurman pass underneath and the layup good by Leroy Parnell. And Parnell with the left hand makes it four to two, Kankakee. Dixie will be in for a challenge tonight. Henry double teamed in backcourt, looks for help. Trying to get the pass to Maxwell. And they call the foul. Reach in on Leroy Parnell. Dixie not looking particularly rattled, but they had a little bit of a tough time getting the pass away that time. Yankakee extremely quick and one of the best defensive teams in this tournament, if not the best. That ranks at least with Dixie as a defensive team. They will go with a 1, 3, 1 zone. Dixie will go with a 3, 2 zone when they have a chance. Or man to man inbounds. Comes to Robert Maxwell and back to Ricky Henry. Still in backcourt. Henry hook pass goes to Dan Bell. Breaks the pressure into forecourt, leaves it for Robert Maxwell. Suddenly, three on two. Maxwell jump shot. No good rebound. Parish baseline jump shot in Fuller. Good Abraham Parrish. Parish ties the ball game at 4. And Abraham Parrish, who has not had a good shooting tournament, ready to come into this one and give it his best championship of the nation. 4 4, Ty Kankakee and Dixie. Man to man to defense by Dixby. Out in front to Allen Eaton against Stevenson. Left angle pass stolen by Abraham Perry. Lead pass comes to Ricky Henry. Juggles it along the sidelines, gains control. Henry with the basketball. Avery and Parrish. Two baskets and a steal so far. Henry almost passed Avery and Parish in the corner. Maxwell bounce pass to Parish out of the corner. 20 footer, shot up. No good. Rebound brought down by Jeff Thurman. So Kankakee with a rebound. Good position. Ball player. Reminds you a little bit of that scrappy UCLA team that won the national championship in the 60s. Only this team is shorter. Murph at the angle with the pass to Jeff Thurman out in front. It goes through the point to Andre Bryson. Bryson at the right angle to Eaton. Leans in with the left hand. Shot good. Up over Bell and Allen Eaton as his first basket. Make it six to Four, Kankakee out in front. Robert Maxwell double teaming backcourt late. Pass comes to Dan Bell into the corner. It goes to Stevenson. Leaves it for Parrish. Parrish five footer, banks home. Avery and Parish with a pass from Stevenson. Stevenson almost stepped out of bounds along the sideline. 6, 6, tie with 17:15 left in the first half. Yankee Key may go into the four corners. Dennis Lane is giving the signal. Shot up and good. Getting in front of Dan Bell is Leroy Parnell with the left hand. Make it eight to six and Kankakee has had an extremely hot shooting tournament. Pass comes to Robert Maxwell. Is the pressure broken? Maxwell to Parrish. It takes. Fakes the ten footer. Banks. It holds Abram Parrish. 88 tie. Kankakee 8. Abram Parrish has eight points. 16:44 Left in the first half of play and Parish to challenge Leroy Parnell. Parnell into forecourt at the free throw line. Pass indeed goes to Bryson. Leans in with a right hand shot. Blocked by Henry. Taken out of the air by Stevenson. Fast break. Dixie lead. Pass to Bell. Lays it up. Hangs will not fall. Rebound Parrish for two. Avery and Parrish has 10. First half point. Dixie leads 10 to 8 for the first time in the game with 16:19 left in the first half of this championship game. Kankakee versus Dixie for the national championship. Dixie into a man to man defense at the angle. The pass goes to Allen Eaton into the corner to Andre Bryson out in front. Head faking is Thurman. Jump shot. Good. Jeff Thurman and Kankakee with the perimeter shots. Doing the job. Henry lead pass. Comes to the baseline to Dan Bell. Breaks the pressure. Bell looks for help. Trying to find somebody. Pass it to. Gets it to Ricky Henry. Almost a five second count. Henry looks for help, Goes to the high post to Stevenson. Makes the move down the lane. Shot good. So they call the offensive foul on Stevenson. Kankakee got there. Stevenson picked up the foul. And they say the turkey first or second team foul on Dixie. Kankakee has one. Take away the shot. It's a 1010 tie and Kankakee has the basketball out of bounds in backcourt. Jerry Harris I believe is one official. Eric Geldart is one and Dan Crawford is the third. 15:35 left in the first half of play. Leroy Parnell end of the forecourt, left handed dribble against Parish. Goes at the angle to Jeff Thurman. Skinny gets from Illinois and Indiana. Mostly in the lane. Running jump shot by Murph. No good. Rebound taken flat footed by Stevenson. Reach in foul Will go to Mike Murph. Murph with his first personal foul. Second team foul on Kankakee. Out of bounds to Dixie in backcourt to face that zone. Pressure by the Mini Cavaliers. Bell inbounds to Ricky Henry. Dixie has been slowed down but has not been hampered by the zone. Late pass comes to Stevenson. Foul. Which way does it go? Is it on Murph or is it on the other ballplayer? Stevenson went to the basket. The foul will go to number 44, Leroy Parnell. And that should be number two on Parnell. It is 13. Foul. And Stevenson to shoot a couple of free throws. Brent Stevenson, who's had a tremendous tournament. Brent Stevenson has scored 40 points in the tournament. Has picked up 19 rebounds in the tournament. Dixie's had a good rebounding tournament. Into the lineup for the first time is number 32. That's Tracy Nicholson, a 63 freshman. Stevenson first shot up and good. Brent Stevenson, first player other than Abraham Parrish to score in this ball game for Dixie. And Dixie has a one point lead. 11 to 10, 15, 14 left in the first half. Stevenson shot good. And suddenly there's a whoosh coming from the Dixie fans. Milderly Missouri. I'm going to have to give you some explanations about a Whoosh on that. 12 to 10. Dixie out in front. 15:10 left in the first half. Murph against the full court. Pressure pass into forecourt. Comes to Thurman to the baseline. It goes to Nicholson. Hook pass. Comes out in front to Thurman. Thurman away from the action to Mike Murphy. Kankakee patient offense. 60 into a 32 zone against Kankakee. Murph looks for help. Trying to find somebody. Pass into the corner to Bryson. Picked up quickly by Stevenson at the angle. Comes out in front to Mike Murph. Murph looks for the screen. Can't find anybody. To Thurman. Back to Murph. Back to Thurman in the corner. Thurman pass in deep. Ball knocked away. Stolen, but picked up by Bryson. Caught up, no good. And there will be a foul on Dixie. Geldart calls the foul. Let's see who the foul is on. The question is it is on Dan bell. That's number one on bell. 13 pound on Dixie. And to the free throw line goes Andre Bryson. Already two for two on the night, 12 to 10. Dixie out in front. Shot by Bryson. Good as a team. Kankakee is shot just under 70% on the tournament. Dixie just over 84%. Bryson has made it four straight and has tied the ball game. At 12, ready to come in is number 30, Mike Nolan, a six foot freshman. Nolan for Kankakee into the lineup for the first time. Kankakee represents region number four in this tournament. Maxwell into forecourt on the fast dribble to Abraham Parrish. Looks for help. Trying to find somebody. Goes to the baseline to Stevenson. Back out in front of Parish. Jump shot from 12, shot up short. Rebound taken away by Kankakee. Kankakee with a chance to get the lead now 12:12 tie with 14:20 left in the ball in the first half of this ball game. Into forecourt. Murph against Ricky Henry. Kankakee has played three perfect games to come into this tournament. Upset Moberly last night to get to the championship. Has a nine game winning streak. In deep. The turnaround. Jump shot. No good. Rebound brought down by Stevenson. Nicholson with the jump shot. Stevenson with a rebound to Robert Maxwell. Gankakee scrapping all over the floor. Maxwell into forecourt, has a double team cross court. It goes to Ricky Henrich. Henry looks for Dan Bell at the baseline, but pulls up on the pass. Henrich loses the dribble. Leaves it for Robert Maxwell out in front. 60 against the stone. Maxwell to Ricky Henrick. Pass underneath goes to Dan Bell. Baseline to Parrish. 10 footer good Avery Parish. Parrish with 12 points and Dixie Lee. 14 to 12. And 12 of those points to Abraham Parrish. That's more like the Abraham Parish we've seen before. Has been in the slump recently. Murph loses the dribble, falls down. Pass eventually ends up into forecourt. Is Mike Nolan in deep. The pass. The jump shot by Nicholson over Stevenson is good. And here comes Kankakee again. Will not crack. 14:14 tied. Henry to Dan Bell in backcourt. Bell to bring it into forecourt. Leaves the pass for Abrian Parish. Late pass goes to Henry who slams it home. And there's a foul. Hen went up over Kankakee to stuff it all with the right hand. And the foul may go to Mike Murph. 1614, Dixie out in front. Ricky Henry with the basket. And we'll have a chance for the three point play. 1307 left in the first half of play. Into the lineup for the first time comes six foot freshman Cleo Foster. Foul is on my team, Murph. And let's see if Murph is the man out of there. Yes, it is Ricky Henry at the free throw line. 1307 left and a half. Henry shot up and good. Ricky Henry gives Dixie the three point lead. 17 to 14 in backcourt. Number 24 Cleo Foster being chased by Maxwell. Dixie with a full court pressure pass comes into forecourt to Nicholson. Looking for somebody to pass it to Dixie. Harassing on the defense. Dixie will shift into that 32 zone at the point. Foster into the corner. Eventually ends up into the hands of Mike Nolan. Back to Nolan, out of the corner. Jump shot, no good. Rebound Abraham Parish. Outlet pass right into the hands of Kankakee. Picked up by Cleo Foster. Foster looks for help. Trying to find somebody in deep now. Can't find anybody. Leaves it for Jeff Thurman. Thurman leaves the bag out in front for Cleo Foster. Foster at the point against that 32 zone to the baseline. The jump shot up and good by Mike Nolan. Ken Footer and it's a 1716 Dixie one point lead. Henry into forecourt. Two man trap, cross court. Goes to Dan Bill. Bill looks for Henry. Gets it back to Ricky Henry. Henry penetrates, dishes off to Avery and Parrish. All alone at 18. Shot up soft and no good. Tapped by Dixie. No good. Rebound brought down by Kankakee. Parish had the shot hang on the rim and it was then came down into forecourt. Not quite into forecourt. Robert Maxwell picks up a blocking foul against Cleo foster. That's number two on Maxwell. The fourth team foul on Dixie. Dixie with a one point lead. 17:16 Brad Wade in and Robert Maxwell to sit down. Brett Wade, the winner of this session award. Last time he was here. That's for sportsmanship. 11:58 left in the first half of play. Zolei across the 10 second line. Cleo Foster about the pass. Comes back to Tracy Nicholson. Jump shot up. No good. Clearing the rebound as Henry loses the basketball. Shot up and no good by the new man in. That's number 20, Jeff Benson. And Benson commits the foul on the rebound. And there is a foul reach in. Foul may go to Brent Wade. Correction. They say that's with a body. A bump with a body. And Brent Wade has his first personal foul. That's the 15 foul on Dixie. 11, 18 left in the first half of play. 19 to 16, Dixie. Nicholson inbound and hands it back to Cleo Foster. Foster at the point. Dixie into that three, two zone. Pass underneath. Stolen by Brent Stevenson. Stevenson to Parrish, leaves it for Ricky Henry. Dixie with a chance to expand out that lead. Still in backcourt as Henry now comes into forecourt. Cedric Bell into the lineup for the first time for Kankakee. Parrish at the angle hook, cross court. Dubrand Wade looks for help against that zone. Wade with a left handed dribble. Trying to find somebody, still has the dribble. Bounce pass goes to Ricky Henry. It takes the pass to Parish. Back to Brentway. To the baseline and goes. Stevenson leans in with a 15 footer bank shot. No good rebound. Chase down in the corner. Picked up by Dan Bell. Touch left by, I believe Dan Bell. Saving it is number 24, Cleo Foster. Bounced it off of Dan Bell and Bell slipped and went down. Out of bounds to Kankakee. Dixie with a three point lead. 1960 and Kankakee with a tough defense. Bayne right with Dixie in backcourt. Number 24, Cleo Foster. Pass comes into forecourt against that zone. Here's Cedric Bell. Dixie back into that 3, 2 zone. 10:26 left in half. Inbounds. It comes to Benson. Bounce pass, eventually out of bounds. Henry trying to bounce it along the sideline, loses it out of bounds. And Kankakee with that trap as Dixie gets into forecourt, bothering the Rebels. 19:18 and Kankakee with a chance to take the lead. 10:13 left in the first half. Defensive struggle between the two teams. 10o, 8 left, 3:2 zone by Dixie. Benson goes to the post position, trying to get the pass, but cannot. Out in front is Bryson. Long jump shot up and good by number 22, Cedric Bell. And Kankakee has taken the lead. Kankakee has played three perfect games and in the process of trying to put together their fourth perfect game. Parish to Henry in the lane. Layup shot too hard. Rebound brought down by Andre Bryson. And once again Kankakee getting some momentum. 20 to 19. Ball knocked away by Henry on the floor. Jim ball called it. Should be out of bounds to Dixie. Henry all over. Cleo Foster forced a turnover. No foul on Ricky Henry. And that's a little bit of a surprise as he and Foster working hard in mid court. The Trap by Kankakee has bothered Dixie's guards a little bit. Inbound becomes to Brent Wade. Lob pass to Ricky Henry. Trying to find Parish out in front. The pass goes to Brent Wade. Looking for help. Trying to penetrate that zone to Parrish in the corner. Mike Murph back into the lineup at a guard position. Murphy, Leroy Parnell in there. Also in backcourt. Murph gets the bounce pass to Parnell. Dixie Will extend out that zone in the lane. Eaton under pressure, puts a shot up. Rebound brought down by Abraham Parrish. Too hard with the shot with the left hand to Ricky Henry. Into forecourt. Henry goes around his man into the corner. Stevenson going after the basketball, gets his second personal. That's the 15 foul. A correction. The 16 foul on Dixie. Kankakee to shoot one and one the rest of the rest of the half. 7:39 left. Parish missed that shot after hitting 12 of Dixie's first 23 points. Actually 12 of Dixie's first 14 points. 7:34 left and a half. Dixie with that three two zone shutting down. Kankakee right now into the corner. It goes to Bryson. Picked up by Parish. Long jump shot out of the corner. Bryson short rebound in the lane and a travel call on Thurman. Put the shot up and in, but shuffled the pivot foot to try to get the shot off. So Dixie once again a chance to expand the lead. Ready to come in as Steve Schreiner for the first time tonight. Shriner in and Brent Stephenson to sit down. Stevenson goes out with two free throws and a whole bunch of rebounds. A little bit shorter team for Dixie now. Dan Bell filling backcourt. Dixie will shoot one and one the rest of the half. 5:59 left in the first half of play. Out of bounds to Dixie in backcourt. Ricky Henry still in backcourt. Look for help. Cross court pass goes to Brampton Wade who brings it into forecourt. Law pass through the baseline to Schreiner. Pass intended for Parish. Thrown away into the hands of Parnell. Goes into the corner to Bell. Pass underneath to Parrish. Gets away, leans in, puts the right hander up. No good. Rebound brought down by Jeff Thurman. It comes to Mike Nolan backing away from trouble. Nolan wants to go one on one with somebody to Allen Eaton in the lane. Against Shriner at the right angle. It goes to Murph baseline. Jump shot. Murph no good. And they call the foul. On whom? It may be on Murph. If it is, that's three. Offensive foul on Murph. Jumping into Bell. And Dixie took the charge as the 17 foul on Kankakee. Is it before or after the shot? Apparently after. Dan Bell to shoot free throws. Dan Kake with 30. Dixie with 29. 205 left in the first half of play. Dan Bell to shoot one and one. Bell has put on an amazing show free throw shooting wise. Bell is 25 for 27 in the tournament. Shotgun. Make it 26 for 28. 30, 30 tie with 205 left in the first half. And it is a defensive battle between Kankakee and Dixie. Shot up by Bell. Good. Dan Bell with eight first half points, 31 to 30. Dixie has the lead again and Kankakee probably will face that zone. Kankakee outscoring Dixie 10 to 4 at one point to take the one point lead. Thurman against Bell at the angle. It goes to Fenton. Head fakes and travels. Benson turns the ball over. Sony Blank videotapes are now just 4:44 after rebate. A plastic storage shoebox with lid is now just 88. Frank Ford exit trailing by 1:32 to 30. First two points scored by Kankakee, Bell and backcourt. Maxwell still in backcourt. Robert Maxwell still in backcourt. Comes across the 10 second line and he will be fouled. Amazing matchup excitement in this tournament. A tournament that seems to lack a little of the verve. Talking with some of the veterans, the tournament seems to lack a little of the verve that previous tournaments have had. Although for all of the participants it was something special. But when it got to be a can kick each Dixie matchup in the championship, the fans jumped into this building and filled it to the hills. Midland College, the Midland Texas Chaparrals Havion Pence holding high above his head the fourth place trophy that will go back to Texas Midland. Winning the championship in 1982 began a string of three straight Texas champions. Midland and then San Jacinto twice. Jerry Stone, the coach of Midland College. Let's take a look at some final scoring totals while we have it. Allen Eaton hit 14 points 7 of 11 from the field. Leroy Parnell had nine points. Andre Price eight, Mike Nolan six, Tracy Nicholson four four to Thurman, four to Cedric Bell, four to Benson, two to Foster. Murph did not score for Dixie. Brent Stevenson topped everybody with 15 points. 14 points to Parrish, nine to Shriner, eight to Dan Bell, five to Ricky Henry, four to Brad Wade, two to Robert Maxwell. And that was the score. 60 shooting 52.3% they say from the field, but it didn't look that good. 60 missing a lot of good shots that they normally hit. The Midland team led by Eddie Frazier, who last night when he fouled out of the ball game went along the Dixie bench clapping hands. Frazier led a couple of Midland ballplayers to coach Jerry Stone and congratulating the Dixie team. And now Frazier and the middle and ball players over congratulating Kankakee for a second place finish. The Moberly fast starting a rhythmic clap of the hands ready for the graves to receive their third place trophy. That looks to be Guy Holt down there announcing Moberly Graham, the veteran of this tournament. Moberly, if you go on point total in terms of who has done the best in this tournament, first you begin with four national championships with the Greyhounds. Then you start up adding up second, third, fourth place finishes. Moberly by far and away the most successful school in this National Junior College Athletic association tournament. Coach Dana Altman, one of the good young coaches there to have his picture taken with his team. Moberly finishing third winning against Midland Texas in the semifinals tonight 67 to 58. In the two earlier games in the compilation round those awards presented earlier, sixth place or fifth place went to Allegheny College of Maryland 99 to 65 winner over Highland Park. Highland park finishes sixth. Seventh place went to Kaskaskia, Illinois 70 to 57. Victor over West Arkansas of Arkansas. Once again. Now the picture taking for Moberly College with that big third place trophy. Third place trophy is bigger than most first place trophies in other tournaments. Kaskaskia only the second time an Illinois team has played for the national championship. Lincoln College of Illinois lost to West Ark. In 1951. In 1981, 67 to 50, only the second time an Illinois school has played for the national championship. The Moberly team going over shaking the hands of the Dixie players. Coach Dana Altness leading the way. And now Moberly to move across the floor to the Kankakee Cavaliers. Hod Hummerson introducing the Jim Swigert, who will make the next award to the Region 4 champion, Kankakee, Illinois. And a good group of Illinois fans who have made the trick. Standing ovation by the Dixie team for the Kankakee squad. Standing ovation by the Hutchinson fans. Listen to them. For Kankakee. The Kankakee fans stood immediately. Dixie's Rebel stood next. And then almost in unison, almost like a wave, the rest of the Hutchinson fans and the Dixie fans stood in stark standing ovations. See if we can pick up the announcement. A key game for Kankakee. Only this year has it been voted on to allow Kankakee to award scholarships outside of the county. They will be allowed next year to award three scholarships. And so this is an opportunity time for the Cavaliers to have this sort of performance and to build some interest in Kankakee. And it's brought a community together, a community that has suffered with unemployment. Kankakee getting a well deserved standing ovation as Dixie has edged Kankakee 57 to 55. Rusty Hilt, some Kwame BW down there among the Dixie Rebels. We're about to have the presentation of the championship trophy. Plenty of plenty of pictures being taken of the second place team, Kankakee, and they deserve it. Such a super performance by an outmanned out, physically manned, but a team extremely quick. Playing a perfect game for Kankakee. Defensively, Dixie having to do their best, play their best defensively to come out on front. 57 to 55. Dixie with a 55, 55 tie call. Timeout with just a little more than a minute 30 left in the game. I believe it was a minute 36 at that point. And going for one shot, not necessarily the last shot, but one shot, getting it with just over 30 seconds left in the game on the pass from Stevenson to Parish, who put it up, hung on the rim and fell down through. And Dixie then getting the win as Kankakee forced by the Dixie defense to take a shot that they wouldn't want to take. Here is Theo Heap, president of the njcaa, former president of Mesa Community College in Arizona and director. Let me see if we can pick up Theo Heap as I have for the last 12 years. I would like to thank Guy Holt and the tournament committee. Guy Holt and the American Legion tournament committee. Guy Holt, the chairman of the tournament committee for lo these many years inducted into the Junior College Coaches Basketball hall of Fame. Where his his directorship at this tournament. Presenting this trophy to someone from the West. Neil Robert and the Dixie College Rebels and in unison, the hustles and fans, the Kankakee fans. And needless is save the Dixie fan. Standing ovation for the Dixie College Rebels, Neil Roberts. You can see almost all peace down there. Not much else with his face, faith, a big smile. Holding the trophy high above their heads. The Dixie Rebels national championship. Thanks Ducky, who came out of retirement as the last minute to be the sponsor to be the host for Dixie College. Big smile on his face early in this tournament, he said I came out of a retirement to win a national championship. Had a second place finish with College of Southern Idaho one year. Came out of retirement as a team host to win a national championship. And that he had done. The Dixie Rebel. Jay Clark, holding the trophy along with Brent Wade in front, grins on everybody's face. Dr. Bruce Williams, Tom DeBrusky and Neil Roberts, stage right of the big men, arms around one another. Frank Specky, the team host Abraham Parish has a big left arm around him. Dan Bell holding up the number one sign. Same with Lyndon DeYoung, Jarrett Williams and Josh Burgoyne. There are pictures everywhere, Dixie fans, newspapers, television. Of course TV55 will be televising this championship game and the semifinals next week. So stay tuned on that. And of course a reminder that the homecoming celebration will begin on the South Interchange tomorrow evening sometime around 7 o'. Clock. Dixie should be in town between 7 and 7:30 if all of the plane connections meet and will bring with themselves a national championship player. First place player trophies going to each of the players. The Blue Dragons or the Dragon Dolls, I should say from Hutchinson, Kansas performed at halftime and giving out the individual awards to each of the participants. The final scoring totals by the way, let's take care of a little paperwork. Pee Wee Barber, who who only played in three games for Farum, West Virginia before they were eliminated, ended up as the tournament's leading scorer with 101 points. Abraham Parrish ended up tied for sixth with Allegheny's Darren Moseley with 66 points. Bran Stevenson tied for 20th with Tony Gulley of Casper, the all tournament team about to be introduced. Let's see if we can can pick this up. We will have coach Neil Roberts up a little bit later after the award ceremony. President Alton Wade's behind me and we'll talk to him after the the all tournament team Is announced. Hart Hammerson about to make the announcement of the alternative. Let's see if we can pick them up. Pee Wee Barber, the leading scorer in the tournament. And what an athlete. Pee Wee Barber as an athlete went to the same high school as Ralph Sampson and broke many of Sampson's scoring records. Peewee Barber, the little point guard from Farum, Virginia. Havian Vince, outstanding center from Midland, Texas. Havian Vince from Midland, named to that all tournament team. And as they used to say, what a long drink of water he is. Tall, six, nine and a half and maybe taller. Number three, Car Carr, the number three scorer in the tournament. Heavily recruited from Highland Park, Michigan. A six foot six inch guard. And he put on a show in this tournament. From the team that was number one ranked coming into this tournament, Highland Park. Vernon Carr. We have three members of this all tournament team. Vernon Carr, interesting, Wearing one street shoe, one sneaker. I guess he has another pair just like that at home. Lewis Cook, the big 6 foot 8 inch setter from West Ark, Arkansas, the number 8 finisher in this tournament. Lewis Cook, named to the all tournament team. I believe West Ark is on their way back to Fort Smith, Arkansas right now. Bernard Day, young man from Moberly. Bernard Day, an outstanding ball player, listed preseason as one of the top 30 junior college players in the nation by Blue Ribbon yearbook. And Bernard Day from Moberly had an outstanding tournament. Named to the all tournament team. Allen Eagles who singled left handedly kept Kankakee close when the going got tough. Haggard Eaton hit the key pressure shot for Kankakee. Allen Eaton named to the all tournament team. Danny Johnson, who I believe finished as one of the leading rebounders, did finish as the leading rebounder in the tournament. Danny Johnson from Kaskaskia, Illinois, outstanding big man for Kaskaskia. Danny Johnson, hitting way back in the crowd. Had to find his way out of the crowd, but he did that a lot on the floor to get rebounds and enough to lead this tournament with 38 rebounds. Avery and Parrish from Dixie College, number eight on this all tournament team. An Abraham Parrish who kept the pressure shot at the end. Did not shoot particularly well in this tournament but got rebounds and defensive field. Brent Stevenson from Dixie College, named to the all tournament team. Brent Stevenson. William Stewart, number two scorer in the tournament, 87 points. Carr was the number three scorer. William Stewart from Allegheny. They had to get a ballplayer from Allegheny. A super performance tonight to finish fifth in the nation. William Stewart from Allegheny of Maryland. There you have a 10 man all tournament team. The co captains from Dixie, Abraham Parrish and Bradley Stevenson. Allen Eaton from Kankakee. From third place, Moberly Bernarde. Ray Swager from Erie also named to the all tournament team. Swagger outstanding tournament although Erie was eliminated by Allegheny yesterday. Swagger named to the all tournament team 11 man squad. Jeff Thurman From Kankakee, the 12th player on this 12 man all tournament team. So let's take a look at it. From Farum, Virginia, Pee Wee Barber from Midland, Texas, Havey and Bend, Highland Parks Running Car West Arks Lewis Cook, Moberly's Bernarde, Kankakee's Allen Eaton and Jeff Thurman. Kaskaskias Danny Johnson, Allegheny's William Stewart. Ray Swagger from Erie College in Buffalo, New York and Dixie's co captain Abraham Parrish and Brent Stevenson. And the team picture alternative team Race Walker taking the hat off. He's been wearing it through this warm tournament, doing a little quick brush up on his hair, has a big smile on his face and the ballplayers all tournament team. Abraham Parish standing next to him with a big smile on his face. And there you have the all Tournament team. As Todd Hummerson says, would you settle for a team like that? And indeed they will. They'll have the Sesher Trophy, the Bud Obe Small Player Award. Hod Humilson talking about this will probably be the only time the 1985 NJCAA All Tournament Team and Dixie with Abraham Parrish and Brent Stevenson named in the All Tournament team. Let's see if we can pick up the individual awards. Now the coach of the tournament and there are plenty of good candidates for this Coach of the tournament. Allegheny's coach. Moberly's coach, Jerry Stone did not really have the talent he had previously but still finished fourth. Neil Roberts of Dixie, Denny Lanus of Kankakee.
